i know. i just like saying silly. No problem but you do have point we don't know how much influence resource wise BSS had on other Earth Kingdom towns. This could really hurt the resistances ability to confront the fire nation. Oh and I watched the episode and I still don't trust Oz he seemed way to well kind to Zuko but only time will tell on that.

I agree. Seeing Ozi all normal looking just made me trust him even less. he seemed way creepy.
but logically, what alternative motive could Ozi have? I understand why Azula wants him there, but why does Ozi want Zuko to be dependent on him?
Wait. I think ive got it. Perhaps he fears Azula. She conquered Ba Sing Se where he failed. She has much of the FN military loyal to her(assumption), and the Di Le to boot. anyone could tell that her loyalty is to herself alone. she will serve Ozi just as long as he is useful to her.
perhaps Ozi wants Zuko to distract her/balance out the power. Perhaps reinstating Zuko's honor is a way of taking away legitimacy from Azula.
Zuko is just more loyal and easier to control
And while im at it. Where is Ozi burned? “Iroh has suffered enough. But yours has not yet begun. (little Azula smiles)
Either Ozi kept his head bowed and took the blast on his back (that would be an odd Aang/Ozi parallel) Or Ozi fought back. “Fight back Prince Zuko! Fight for your honor!”
In summary. The episode was good. But felt like there was meant to me more. Like it was planed for an hour long episode, but Nick decided on 30 minutes.
One rule of thumb ive heard from my art major GF: When the art looks shallow in comparison to the artist, look to the manager.
But I enjoy the show the more I watch it and Im psyched for the head-band.
(The only thing that really bugged me about this show was how powerful katara was. But ive writted that off and a combo of two things. It was a full moon + Katara was clearly PMSing that episode. Which =s super water bender. Equivalent of the avatar state for Aang.)

Er, Order of the White Lotus anyone?
We haven't heard from them in a while. It's time we found out about them.
And I wonder if we'll be seeing that Fire Nation kid that semi-bonded with Appa?

I loved the Awakening. 10 months and it looks like season 3 is certainly going to be worth the wait. The emotion, the conflict, the heartwarming aspects of it. It was just wonderful.
I felt sorry for Zuko (he looked so bothered and conflicted), even though much of his problems are his own fault. Loved Sokka and Toph (her metal bending...wow!), the cameo appearances of Yue and our old friend, the Sea Serpent, Maiko kiss, Azula and Zuko's interactions, Ozai, Katara and Aang's heartwarming scenes.
The ep once again reinforced why Aang's my favorite. Poor boy.
Loved the ep. LOVED IT!!!!!!

That, my friends, is a matter of differing opinions...neither is solid fact... I may prefer one to the other...but that doesn't mean the one I don't favour is bad...it is merely not to my taste... Yep, good call. I just think Avatar is better than Naruto. Regardless of which is better, I don't think Avatar is a ripoff of Naruto.

Don't worry, you didn't miss anything. As it turns out, the comics in the Avatar issue of Nick magazine explained that Mai and Zuko had a MUTUAL childhood crush. Zuko wanted to remain in Ba Sing Se so Azula set Mai and Zuko on a dinner date (with the Dai Li as the servants), hoping that sparks would fly and Zuko would want to return home. But Azula and Ty Lee were overheard behind some bushes so Mai and Zuko left and took a friendly stroll in the Lower Ring. There, they met Jin who wanted to know who Mai was; she was the knife thrower at "Lee's" former circus. Jin gets Mai to do some knife throwing, first on her, then Jin tries to spear a fish on "Lee's" head with an icicle. Zuko almost dies and he chases a gleeful Mai into an alley. I think they reminisce about their childhood, lean in for a kiss... then the next day, they're strolling along, happy as can be, and Zuko informs his sister that he will return home with her. Thanks for sharing that, I never read the mag so I was a little confused.

Just speculation, but someone needs to bust Iroh out of jail (he's to cool to just sit around for half the season) and at the rate Zuko's going I don't think it's going to be him. (Although I bet that if Iroh escapes via the OotWL/other method, Zuko will get blamed for it, as if he doesn't have enough problems already)

I really could see Toph busting Iroh out of jail, being friends with him and being able to bend metal and what not... At least they brought Jin back...sorta...

I loved this episode....good way to start the new season I think. And Azula hasn't changed at all, still the smart cunning little priss as always...I LOVE it.

Umm...Did anyone else notice that Azula's hotness level went up through the roof in this scene? She wasn't even wearing make-up and was in her sleeping clothes. How does someone get that much hotter when they aren't trying!?

The episode was ok. Toph, although we saw little of her, is just awesome. And I'm glad to see Sokka and the humor. I hope he is still as funny when he turns all kickass on us. I love the scene between Katara and her dad, I thought it was very touching, although I must admit seeing Katara that was a bit odd. Don't know why, I'm just so used to see her being strong I guess, but it was nice to see her like that. And I just love Hakota, just love him! The only thing that really shocked me was how young Ozai looks. Just thought he'd look older.
My only other comment is that I totally agree with Random Battery and Kataang on the Mai subject. I though she was uncaring and cold. He was pouring out his heart, and she just like whatever, nice girlfriend. A bit more suportive would've been nice. And, no, he certainly seem happy to have his face sucked by the girl. No emotion at all from him, not usually a good sign.

How does someone get that much hotter when they aren't trying!? It's the portruding bust and hourglass figure. They did the same thing with Jin where she was kind of plain looking but once she asked Zuko to see some acrobatics and advanced on him BAM big bust, hourglass. Worked on Ty Lee to an exaggerated effect (seriously... she has no stomach), worked with Katara, even worked with Suki who's figure can somehow be noticeable while wearing 50 pounds of armor.

How does someone get that much hotter when they aren't trying!? Yes, everyone's noticed. I find myself thinking about Azula alot more than I used to beforehand, even claiming to be a rabid Azula fanboy, since that particular scene. But seriously, even for the body tricks, her face is still alot prettier without makeup than it is with.

Yeah, I was more focused on the face too. I didn't really notice the body until just now. I am blown away all over again now. Thanks guys for calling my attention to that.

I must admit that I thought the premier was a bit too heavy handed in the parallels between Zuko and Aang. That's always been an interesting subtext that I had respected the writers for keeping relatively subtle. But Aang talks like Zuko in this one and Katara's thing with her dad was a tight parallel with Zuko and his dad. Now that the season is set up, I have faith that we'll get back on track.
