I'm quessing it one those suppress feeling that just came out....it not uncommon but this shows from a character stance that there still more that we don't understand from her.
As for the kiss...there already shipping bias since this story break out sometime ago.

You know what I just noticed? Sokka is growing his hair in the back of his head. At least it looked that way from one angle in one scene. *Nods vigorously* That's the first thing I noticed, which is why I'm excited that I can feasibly cosplay as him now. Before I couldn't think how to work with the hair because of the whole partially-shaved scalp thing without it looking doofy. My inner cosplayer rejoiced^-^. As for the topic of Toph being too powerful to be believed: I don't believe she is just magically an amazing bender. She's got raw talent, to be sure, but I imagine she had to work their butt off to get where she is now. The fact that she hasn't had much real formal training doesn't mean she didn't have to work hard every single day to get as good as she is. It's her determination that I admire the most about her. I don't think either she nor Katara got too powerful too fast. To me, neither of them seemed that much more advanced than they did at the end of the second season. I don't quite know what to say about her ability to fight on the ship. It didn't bother me watching it. When you think about it, she had REALLY large projectiles, and large and noisy targets. Plus she had people with her, and they could have kind of guided her in the right direction initially. It seemed more of a "point and shoot" method than anything that required precision. This is all speculation, of course. There could be any number of reasons. I try not to analyze things to death. If I get too analytical, it decreases my enjoyment of....well, anything. Yeah. Bedtime now. I can feel the caffeine and adrenaline wearing off.

How was the kiss rushed at all? It was explained in Zuko Alone that Mai had a crush on Zuko and Mai's the foreceful type. Considering it's been somewhere around 2 weeks to a month that they left the Earth Kingdom, the first thought going through my head when they kissed was "huh, they must have been pretty busy all this time!" Even Azula pretty much confirmed my thoughts when she said "Mai's been in a much happier mood." Call me "loose" or whatever, but if I had a hot moody childhood friend like Mai that I haven't seen in 3 years or whatever, we'd be making out every chance we got But we only saw that Mai liked Zuko, we don't know if Zuko liked Mai. If you didn't read the comic, you would have no idea why Mai kissed Zuko and he didn't react, we shouldn't have to buy the magazine OR be forced to speculate how much their relationship developed without us being able to see.

They've already uploaded "The Awakening" onto Youtube a measly 8 hours ago.

Is it just me or is Aang looking a lot like young Zuko?! That's the point, but at least Aang's scar is on his back and not over one of his eyes, that would mean more symbolic similarities.

Um...it's everyone. We've made this claim millions of times.
You know what I hate? The Fire Nation. When the two creepy old ladies were talking, they had such a huge bias. It seriously annoyed me and ticked me off to see that war, devastation and just destruction of lives is seen as a good thing. The Fire Nation is full of cold-hearted people whose main concern is their own person and no one else. My hatred for the people has really increased due to that speech (which friggin' annoyed me further), and the idea that Azula and Zuko are honored as heroes really irked me. They are not heroes. Aang is. But they see Aang as the enemy for God knows what reason. We don't know why the war started; there was no motive. World domination? Likely. But what's the motive? Friggin' people trying to claim honor and power, and this desire has affected their minds and having them think that the Fire Nation is the best country in the world. I mean, look at the Fire Nation anthem! They have the children brainwashed to memorize it! What asses! Look at the preview from "The Headband." One of the guys says that his parents won't approve of his dancing. What? Self-expression is prohibited? That's messed up! Stupid Fire Nation. This episode really increased my pent-up rage for them.

^You sure you're not mad at just the government and royalty? I mean, the normal Fire Nation citizens can't be all like that.

I'm pretty much just angry at the government, but also frustrated at the people who inhabit it.

Am I really the only person here that almost fully understand the entire episodes when I first saw it? Because it seemed like everyone didn't get anything. Some of you didn't even noticed the extra book 1 references when Aang ran off and Katara entered the room. That was similar to when Gyatso entered Aang's room to find him gone. When Azula asked, "Who cares?" Then Zuko turned away and Azula suspected something, that was kind of like Zhao asking Zuko about how his ship was damaged.
Anyways, a while back I read some people discussing about the Crescent Island, and how far or how close they were. It turns out, I checked my map of the world in the last avatar magazine and Roku's Island was in fact close to where they were. They were in the two lakes near the Serpent's Pass land bridge. Pretty close as a matter of fact. When Aang took off, he had to pass over a few mountains or perhaps though the exiting river. Also by looking at the map, something tells me that the village they visited in "The Winter Solstice Part I & II" is close by those parts since Aang had to get past the blockade, before he landed in the waters. I re watched this episode again and again, sometimes back to back. I got used to Yue and I am thinking that she may become a spirit guide for the rest of the group. So I am predicting she may reappear for Sokka and Katara, maybe Toph, but she never knew her.
Also, the reason why the Gaang probably got to the island so fast was because of Appa and assuming that the village they left to get there in book 1 is probably around that area. I am assuming that getting to the island now that Appa is finally with them was no problem at all. In fact, I think this episode should be featured in one of the live action movies if they space it out better. Remember that Roku's Island is the first island in the Fire Nation followed by other smaller islands and then following with the big continent? The distance from the Gaang's fire nation ship and Roku's Island was the same distants as it is from Omashu to Roku's Island.

You want to be careful Falthor; it's that kind of mass generalization that leads to a great many problems today in the real world.

This really isn't a comment on the episode, but on the bonus feature. The new Iroh sounds like Mako with a headcold! That's the best they could do?

all I have to say about the Fire Nation is that from seeing the preview for the next episode where Aang enrolls in that Fire nation school, they seem very Nazi Germany-ish. But then I forget that when I was in elementary school, we had to say the "Pledge of Allegience" so it's not very different. Unless in the Fire Nation Oath they were telling the kids to conquer those who are weaker than them.
