The Korra staff was VERY quick to change the subject when asked at SDCC...so what do you guys think? ;D BTW, I didnt list Aang because we know he has children with Katara.  |

SOKKA!!! Okay, that's just wishful thinking but I know that one of them (Brian I think?) when answering whether he shipped Kataang or Zutara answered "Tokka". So that's not discouraging right?

I voted for New Guy; just thinking that it could be someone she met while traveling the world. But runner-up hope would be The Duke, or... anyone, actually, I got no problem with it being any of the known Avatar guys. There's gonna be drama regardless, so I'm just excited to find out who it is. xD

While Toph's man was likely some new guy we haven't head about, there is some speculatory evidence that it maybe Haru.
My vote goes to Haru, not because I'm convinced he is the daddy, but I believe he might be. And just to keep things interesting around here.

Toph's so awesome she doesn't need a guy to procreate.
Though the Toko (and the anti The Ship I Cannot Name) in me would love it to be Zuko, I'm going with new guy that we don't know...someone who's her equal and opposite, and we never really saw one of those in the show...

So glad there's stuff to theorize about around here again! But if I remember right, we weren't right that often ;D Its probably someone we haven't met, though I would love it if we knew him. I wouldn't hate if it was Zuko....I wasn't much of a fan of Maiko. I loved Tokka, but I gotta feeling SukiXSokka survived I can really see Suki going to the water tribes with Sokka, teaching women to be warriors since they were only allowed to be healers until Katara came along. (Oooo now that I think of it, I like that idea!) I cant wait for those books to come out! Maybe we'll get some answers... |

and thinking more about it yeah, it probably isn't Sokka's as much as I'd love that. Although it's not because I don't think he was her equal, because some of the most touching moments in the series for me were between the two of them and I think they've come to some sort of mutual respect. I agree that he probably stays with Suki just because they've been through so much. But I can't change my vote anyhow

^ Yes, theres a set of 3 graphic novels coming out in early 2012 that follow the stories of the gaang after the war ended. Hopefully they will tie up loose end like Zuko's mother & what-not....and maybe tell us who Toph ends up with |

I say a new guy we haven't met. I find the only one that's really logical on the list from the original characters is Haru...but I mean, come on. That's getting a little too character-based for me. I like the idea of a kind of...unknown...father. It adds more mysteriousness to it.

The moment I found out she had a daughter, I automatically assumed that the father was The Duke.
It sounds insane, but hey, he was really nice to her during the invasion when she needed something to vomit in and they hugged each other when the war was over.
I highly doubt it's him, but who knows.

There's a pretty big age difference there, though...not that that really matters, but a lot of people declared Zuko too old for her...

The only thing that makes me think it isn't a new guy is that they were so hesitant to answer. If it was someone we didn't know why would they keep it a secret? But then again, maybe they're just leading us on, trying to start speculation and hype for the show.

There's something to be said of that line of thought...but...if that's true I'd say it's got to be a major character. I mean, would it really matter if it was one of the hAangers on? If it is a big secret they don't want to spill, I'd say it narrows it down to the first two on the list.

I kinda want it to be a main character. I started thinking Zuko because I think Toph's daughter kinda resembled Ursa. And yeah, Zuko's at least 4 years older... But maybe they didn't get together until they were adults.
And maybe they changed the topic so fast because we wont know who the father is right away in the show...maybe it will be a mystery
So many theories....
