One could say that CoD might have gone much better had Aang not run off from the Guru, but no need to get into that ;x Yeah, that's what I was saying earlier. XD I don't know why exactly the Dai Lee showed up when they did, but that's my point. We don't know exactly where everyone was, or what they were doing or anything, so we can't make a perfect prediction of what would have happened if one person switched sides. And now this argument is going in circles. Agree to disagree?

Fine with me. I don't think we can get any further anyway.

I'll tell you exactly why the Dai Li left!
To give us an awesome fight scene between Zuko, Azula, Katara and Aang. Only reason.

So...now that Aang and Zuko have bonded in a very brotherly way (with dragons )...do you think Katara's insistence on being a total beotch towards Zuko will have an effect on Kataang?

If she continues with it, especially with the intensity of the Katara/Hamma (Katamma XP) at the end of WAT, Kataang will probably be effected negatively. Her vendeta with Zuko could very well ostracize from the group (it seems like everyone else, don't know about Sokka, is okay with Zuko) if it gets really bad.

So at it's worst, it will be Katara vs everyone else
I hope she sees that he has changed, I like Katara and understand where she's coming from, but I don't want this going on until the finale.

Everything points for her setting herself up for a big fall. She's been pretty self-righteous from the beginning...always thinking she's right...and so far she's never suffered any consequences for her actions. She was a borderline terrorist in The Painted Lady but she still came out universally adored. I think she's going to misinterpret something Zuko does and her (over) reaction will lead to his capture...

I like that she's self-righteous, but yeah, she needs to pay for her "crimes". I know I do whenever I'm "wrong"

There was Toko in The Firebending Masters Zuko: "I've lost my stuff..." Toph: "Don't look at me! I didn't touch your stuff!" She got totally defensive...people do that when they're feeling guilty. She totally went through his stuff!

anyways, yes i agree that katata being a bioch will affect kataang. either aang will confront katara, and katara will have to confess why she is being the way she is (fear of losing aang), or Zuko will confront aang about the threat katara made and why she made it.

Katara's change in personality is definitely interesting. She really has changed since the previous season - it's almost like she is becoming angry and bitter. She's always been somewhat sarcastic - but now there's some bite to her words, and she seems more serious. She's even been animated differently in this season - her eyes aren't quite so wide, and there's some other subtle changes too.
I'm hoping it's there because the war is affecting her, and that it is dealt with within the series. It's possible that she will need Aang's help/support to deal with this, which would make their relationship more balanced. I think I would like Kataang a lot more in cannon if he helped her deal with something, and doesn't just forgive her because she's his girl.

Actually, Katara hasn't changed much. The Zuko mocking was about on the same level as the Toph mocking in The Chase.

She's even been animated differently in this season - her eyes aren't quite so wide, and there's some other subtle changes too. I've noticed this, too - I think the changes around the eyes you're noticing are the work of Moi, the animation studio responsible for the first, third, fifth, seventh, ninth?, tenth and eleventh, and thirteenth episodes of this season (I think I got all those right). I'm not sure they have anything to do with the changes in personality that you're noticing, though. As for what could be bringing on those changes, the stress of having Zuko camp out with them now is understandably taking a toll on her nerves. Imagine the first night she went to sleep with him there, camping out just a couple dozen yards away. For months on end his number one goal has been to capture the Avatar, and now he suddenly wants to teach him firebending? I would probably be just as cynical and vicious.
