It sounds good from the outside, but we really have yet to get the inside..... so I'll spectate for a while. Frankly, all I care about right now is more on Zuko's mother. I felt her character was shortchanged during the series, and the ending reaffirmed that for me. No book? No side comment from Mike and Bryan?
As for a spinoff.... one thing they have to do is set it apart from the series while the spirit stays alive. To many spinoffs these days try to pay homage too often or completely copy and paste from the original..... I know that some feel that Avatar is Avatar, but the best spinoffs have their own character. For example: NCIS, Please Twins, Boston Legal..... to name just a few.

It'll either be something different from what we've seen or a sequel to the main series. I'm betting on prequel.

I heard its gona be a show with live actors... Seems far fetched, but I thought the same thing when they told me M night Shamwow was doing the Movies... So nothing would surprise me at this point... I just hope it is a cartoon...

Eh, I really hope it's a prequel. What would really annoy me is a direct sequel, though. There is enough post-war drivel on fanfiction.net with lovebabies everywhere, and I am sick of it. The epilogue of ATLA was awful enough - I don't think that I can handle three more seasons of that.

oh u, Gabi. The epilogue was pretty silly in my opinion, but also kind of harmless (unlike Harry Potter other things). I think it was generally badly received, though, so I doubt it would be a direct sequel, at least of the EVERYONE HAS BABIES variety. I would really really like to see a prequel, though.
I doubt it could possibly be live action - I don't think they would have the budget to produce the special effects necessary for an Avatar-related live action show.

as long as it gets my mind off the NON-Canon movie I just had to go see, then I'm fine.

Was there ever epilogue episodes? I heard rumors that there would be...

No, there were never any episodes after the official finale. We're talking about the finale's epilogue, which probably includes the scenes with the Ursa cliffhanger and everyone gathered at the tea shop/the Kataang kiss.

New tweet from the "supposed" voice of Jeong Su. Jeong Su? I want to believe that tweet, but, I'm feeling a little skeptical. I'm so glad that Mike & Bryan have come up with a new series after ATLA. But, I feel that it's too soon to tell, but hopefully... if this news about "LeaxBlow" being the voice of the supposed Airbender character for Legend of Korra is ultimately true & announced in the near future... then let the speculation begin.

I want to know are Mike and Bryan still on board? And the following are all true. They want this and they came up with the story. Lastly they have full control of the show. If that is the case then I have no worries. If not I probably won't watch it.

Mike said in Sozin's Comet book interview on page 61 that the return of the Air Nomads is not likely. But he also said if Aang and Katara have kids, their kids can be non-benders, waterbenders or airbenders.

I do wish theyd expand on the pre-Aang Avatar universe (maybe even the story of the first Avatar?) but I can see how that can be difficult to do in a televsion series which requires a very specific arch. Btw, while I could take or leave the tea-shop scene, ending on Kataang kiss was the only way to end the series. Shipping aside, she narrated the start of every episode. Maybe that was the only way to shut her up.
