Do you think Katara knows that Aang -likes- her?

It is surprising how blind people, real people, can be to how others feel about them. If polled, I bet that half the people on this forum wouldn't be able to pick out all the people who "liked" them in their daily lives.

In the Avatarverse, there have been some truly epic moments of blindness (Meng anyone). That is why I highly doubt Katara suspects a thing. Nope, probably just sees him as her good friend Aang who gets embarrassed easily.

I think a big clue for Katara would be when Aang told her in SotFN that seeing the baby made him remember how he felt about Appa (that he loved him) and how he felt about her. If she didn't get it after that then she is totally clueless.

I don't think she knows, I mean, she knows that Aang loves her, but not that she's in love with her. C'mon, do you really think that she wouldn't talk about it with him if she knew? She already said that for her Aang it's a cute little friend, just like Momo. Her love for him seems to be more in the vein of a friend/sibling than anything else.

If she does, she does a good job of both concealing it, and yet acting like she knows.

Sometimes she acts completely oblivious, yet other times, she's kissing him on the cheek and stuff.

I think she's oblivious. I can't see her knowing of his feelings and then still giving him the attention and the kisses that she has been--esp. since she was so self-conscious in CoTL.

On the other hand, if she knows and is intentionally being affectionate, maybe she's trying to nudge Aang into admitting it or something.

I disagree. I think she knows that Aang likes her, but probably thinks he just likes her as a crush or something. My guess is that she wouldn't talk to him because she knows that Aang has a duty to the world. To confront him about it, would be clouding his mind and distracting himself from something she knows he has to do. The "sweet little guy, just like Momo" in "The Fortuneteller" parallels to what she said right near the end, when Sokka remarked that Aang was a "powerful bender". Katara looks up at him, and I think that's when she started to notice that Aang was indeed, more than just a friend -- he's a guy too.

I think she does hold some feelings for him, whether they be as great as his feelings for her or not, I believe it's there. The development for the two to become "more than friends" is there, IMO. Of course, that could be my biased shipper self talking for me again.

I would think she would have at least a sneaking suspicion right now, but maybe she's too focused on other things right now to confront it head-on. I mean - if she was fully aware of his crush on her at the beginning of TCoTL, and then she suggested they kiss, that's just torturing the poor kid! And I think she cares a lot more about him than to yank his emotions around like that consciously.

Oooh! This is where I'm stuck at. I doubt she'd yank his emotions like that too, but I don't know. I'd say since she was in the moment -- she suggested the kiss in CoTL. You know? When the atmosphere is *juuust right*, either that or it's for Plot Purposes.

It could be argued that for dramatic purposes only showing one side as being blatantly obvious is the smart way to go. I do think Katara has dropped a few hints (which might be my shipping bias), but with Aang being so obvious, it would be a little too much to have Katara be as equally obvious at this stage in the story. I kind of like her current "does she/doesn't she" behavior.
