The monkey that had it's face stolen didn't have a mouth. And Ozia talks somehow.

Ewww.

Maybe Ozai breathed fire and burnt open a mouth hole. Ewww. Yeah, but don't firebenders need to breathe in to make fire in the first place?

Well breathing fire would just be an exhale and he could have inhaled before having his face stolen. If he had exhaled before having his face stolen he could still burn a hole with firebending.
How do we even know you would die without your face when Koh steals it. It could just look like you have no face, but you function as if you had one (like the spirit monkey)

Koh kinda creeped me out when I first saw him. Awesome and reminded me of "No-Face" who was so sweet ^-^
I vaguely remember Koh claiming that one of the Avatars tried to banish or kill him which is possibly why he is in the Spirit World. Someone banished or killed him (powerful Avatar later on) most likely to stop his terror on people as the Spirit World and its inhabitants could handle him (like Hei Bai).
All this new knowledge makes me happy. I'm just knowledgable on kitsunes, not many other demons or legends.

How would the avatar try to kill Koh if hes in the spirit world. I guess Aang can die in the real world while hes in the spirit world (the matrix) but can somebody who soley lives in the spirit world die?
Maybe Koh had/has a mortal form and that is what the avatar tried to kill.

That's an interesting idea. Koh having a mortal form? Hmm... But I think it's unlikely. I remember Roku saying that Koh is very wise, him being there for e long time, and when Koh spoke of the Moon and Ocean spirits choosing to trade immorality for mortal forms, he sounded as if that was disgraceful, as spirits to live in the mortal world.

Oh yah, i forgot. Hypothetical question: Could they exist in both worlds at once?

Doubt it, although it'd be nice. It's possible for them to have "substitutions," or divided life, as Yue was. (But then, Yue was a whole another life, given just little bit of the Moon Spirit's, so we don't really know how that works. ^^ But as for the soul, and the person's spirit being in both worlds, most unlikely.

All this new knowledge makes me happy. I'm just knowledgable on kitsunes, not many other demons or legends. I had this thought on the purpose of Koh and why he does what he does, why others like him in the Spirit World do what they do. They have to incite fear into the humans, because they are dangerous and often irrational when given the chance, like Admiral Zhao and his attempt to destroy the Water Tribe by destroying the moon. Fear teaches humans respect so they don't do stupid things to upset the balance. Imagine if the Avatar in the past had succeed. Also, I heard this one Japanese tale where a man killed a centepede with a spear that he first licked the blade. Apparently in the tale, saliva is poisonous to creatures like that centepede.
