Im obsessed with this movie. Like Ive actually lost a few nights of sleep thinking about it. Ive read countless amounts of theories, watched the only 2 trailers about a million times, and am getting ready to sacrifice a virgin lamb for it. (joke). Trailers are youtube.com/watch?v=IvNkGm8mxiMand youtube.com/watch?v=ufYF0f-zMgY&feature=relatedAwesome? I think so. It has to be one of the most common techniques of advertising. The first trailer (first link) was just amazing. Mysterious, captivating, and it just disappears. Fast foward a few months and then a second trailer just flies out of nowhere. Thoughts? Ideas? Rumors? Sacrifices?

I'm totally obsessed too! Well, I was, before all my finals started. Now I kind of forgot about it. I saw both trailers before and everything. I have no idea what the "monster" could be. People are saying maybe a reptile, a bug, a ghost, some air....I mean it's crazy the theories that are floating around. And hey, did you ever check out those weird websites that are in some way connected to the movie. Like the one with all the moveable pictures and weird music that comes on after like 6 minutes or so. And I've also been to a couple of the actors myspaces.
I didn't like the first teaser trailer, I thought the second one was really cool.
About the second trailer, what the heck do you think is happening to that woman the doctors are taking away? Someone blew up screen shots and it looks like she is literally blowing up like a balloon!!!
And also, is is "I SAW ITS ALIVE!" or "I SAW IT IT'S A LION!" I can't tell you how many people are fighting over that one.
Probably the coolest thing about it is that say it will be filmed partially in hand held too. Or has that been debunked or/and am I getting false info.?
And whats up with the blurred face solider is that really...? And why all the no name actors and pretty much director? This whole thing is creepy!!!
The funny thing is that when I saw it in the theater, no one really was that excited, they were like yawn!! People were more excited for Dark knight....Zzzzzzzzzzzz

Oh yea I’m really looking forward to this film, it looks sooooo amazing, I love the mystery that going with it, its great not to know what it looks like, that makes watching the film and seeing the “monster” for the first time much more fun, plus I love the sound you hear it make from the first trailer, it so sent a shiver down my spine, I think it sounds really beautiful. Have you guys seen the fan art someone did of what the monster could look like, it was based on the facts that are known and from the very small part that could be soon of it in the second trailer. Cloverfield Monster Designs?I think he looks cute…hehe

Can I say Godzilla? I agree with all three of you that the movie is intriguing. It's captivated my attention and gripping onto it but I have to say that for some reason it reminds me of Godzilla. I haven't read what it's about, it's plot or anything but from the looks of it [watching the videos/trailers] I have to say that it could be similar to Godzilla. The mystery and all can catch people's attention but [IMO] once in the theater while you munch on your popcorn as you glue your eyes on to the screen, you'll most likely, if you ever watched it, think of Godzilla. I'll watch it if I find more about it. That is if interests me more. lol. It's true. I want to watch Dark Knight. Batman is deh BOMB. =D

Im standing strongly behind "I SAW IT ITS ALIVE!" because a lion would not make sense at all.
Mostly because from the movie poster, it shows a swarm through water. Cats hate water. It has to be amphibious too. In the second trailer, when the monster is walking by, it makes TWO thumping sounds. Lions generally walk on 4 legs. The monster is obviously upright.
It cant be a godzilla mostly because Warner owns the rights to Godzilla :/ and J.J. Abrams pretty much said its going to be like nothing we've ever seen before. So people making guesses based on previous monsters should probably just... not... do that.
Yeah that one scene (like 1:23-1:24 in the second trailer) with the women blowing up. Its the same lady from the TV trailer where the soldiers inspect a girl and they shout "WE HAVE A BITE!" and then the pan to everyone evacuating and then scene of her blowing up. I think the monster is releasing like small minions. The scene in the 2nd trailer where they are walking in the sewer and they hear something coming up behind them? Yeah, most likely minions.
What REALLY creeped me out was that horse in the second trailer. Where they come out and theres like ashes raining down and those horses are trotting along with maybe dead passangers? God thats creepy.
I have calender dates set up on my cell phone to periodically remind me *twice daily* how many days left until January 18th.
I plan on skipping school to catch the 5 o clock showing up in Boise, getting out at 7, and then going to see George Carlin. Or maybe going to Carlin at 8, and then catching the 11 o clock showing. Epiphany will follow.
Its consumed my soul..

@ Yakuza= I didn't say it was Godzilla. I said it was similar to Godzilla. Same Here, the whole horse thing freaked me out, too. Eh *shrugs* like I said before I have to look/read/watch/etc to get much more into this movie. LOL. Are you serious, Yakuza? You need to get reminded twice a day. Wow..............................I wonder if I'll get like that later on.

I remember the first time I saw the movie poster, it looked like nothing special so I brushed it off. But the trailer, now that was great. Less truly is more. But I have to say, I am a little creeped out by the movie. Godzilla-esque/monster movies never scared me much. I think it is the way they shot the movie, the Blair Witch treatment maybe a little to real for me.

I know right? That first trailer was just awesome. The mystery. Mmm...
I think the Blair Witch-like camera technique might do justice. I also kind of get interested by the whole romantic undertone of this movie. Because this isnt a hero movie, but this guy is going back for someone he loves, but because this movie is about a monster destroying a city, that this has potential to anti-hero and kill the protagonist just out of nowhere.
The monster was rumored NOT to be shown at all during the whole movie, but I think it will. Why? Second trailer, first scene. That small line of text "this camera blah blah blah found in park codename cloverfield". Something HAS to happen to whoever is carrying the camera to where they drop it. Now what better plot device to satisfy every aspect of mystery surrounding this monster? A camera dropping to the ground *monster kills cameraman* revealing *to which I hope is a slow-motion scene* of the behemoth sized monster of epic proportions.
Something has to happen.
17 more days.
And I will be spiritually fufilled.

I am *really* curious about this movie. The initial teaser trailer grabbed me so much that I've been trying to find out what the heck is up with it! I hope it's good.

Even if the movie ends up being a complete bomb at the box office, it still had like the best trailers I've ever seen in a REALLY long time. The Promo team behind this one should win an award for best trailer.

The promo team actually DID win an award for best teaser trailer.
I mean there is seriously something wrong with me. This movie is all I think about. Im totally expecting it to suck. I hardly see any monster movies ever. And I want to be totally in tune with my sense and grab every single scene and just absorb it and make sure it just gets me. I want to see this movie so bad.
14 more days people!
Obsession has no limits.

Thats not that bad of a rendition of what the monster would look like. I mean its obviously not real because the monster has to be amphibious, upright, and walks on 2 feet. And would also have to give off minion like creatures.
I'd almost believe the monster drawing, maybe with less... fish like qualities? The louses I cant believe because the claw attacks would be more apparent on the wounded characters in the film. Like the power comparison and ratio to the size... the characters would be dismembered really. And we need a reasonable transformation type creature. Like, if you saw a creature, would you believe that a human could rapidly transform into it?
The actual monster per-say, I dont believe that the drawing is that monster. Mostly because in the second trailer when you see that 2 seconds of the monsters right arm/side it has a green color plus no true obvious signs of an extreme length.
Haha I really need to see this movie.
The only other subject that I know inside and out, head to toe, is guns.

Yeah thats why I dont believe it, It looks Like a Mutated whale...
And yes the Trailors are AWESOME, the second one is the best, and I see what your talkcing about with the 2 seconds, it does not look elongated as the picture does but it does look like the back to the creature kindof resembels the picture, maybe this is an idea from the art group that created the monster and its not the final... Like in Star Wars III they took a long time to create Grevious
