I wasn't a real fan of the end. The movie's strength was the less is more in the details of the monster the situation etc. The ending took away from that. I'm totally cool with the monster being alive at the end, I think that the confession plus the I love yous was just cheesy and took away from the realism the movie worked so hard to achieve. They should of just ended it with the helicopter crash.

You guys hear the cloverfield 2 rumors? The sequel is suppose to be the exact same movie, but with the POV of another NYC resident. Hmm.

I'd love it if they made a movie from the *monster's* perspective. Now *that* would be cool.

A movie like Cloverfield done from first person POV can only be done successfully once. I mean, running in terror from supernatural things and falling debris can only be portrayed so many times before it becomes a carbon copy of a preceding film.

Maybe the sequel will touch upon the stuff talked about in the viral campaign ie where the monster came from

Theres a certain demographic that comes back to movies like "meet the spartans" and "epic movie" (if you want to call those movies ) I'd sure as poo go and see Cloverfield 2 (rumored to be Greyspot to designate a second camera found in the sightings). I'd be praying with 17% of my soul that it wasnt a seizure fest like Cloverfield, with a more stable POV, but thats no biggie. It was a great perspective for a great movie.

Cloverfield was a good movie for an Alien Monster film. One of the best I've seen since Godzilla or AVP. Too bad I got motion sickness during the thrilling parts. I would've enjoyed it a lot more.

I think the worst part was in the building and the fire alarm was going off. The noise, plus the strobe, plus the moving, kind of gave me a head rush. Other than that I was fine.

I wasn't a real fan of the end. The movie's strength was the less is more in the details of the monster the situation etc. The ending took away from that. I'm going to have to disagree with you. In the beginning we see that the tape is in the hands of the government, and that they "found" it. So we know right away that whoever filmed it must have met with a less than fortunate end. I think the ending was perfect for what it was. As for the cheesy ending, that's just supposed to mirror real life. People are cheesy like that. Not everyone is a great speaker or writer in real life. Plus, if you pay close attention to the background at the end instead of the cheesy lovers, then you realize that it explains where the monster came from. A flaming satellite crashes into the ocean and wakes the monster from its depths.

For me the scenes following the helicopter crash just didn't do it for me. Yes we do know that the camera survives but we don't know if the people affiliated with it do die as well. The scenes after the plane crash just seem unrealistic to me taking away from what the film worked so hard to established. To me it seems more likely that they died in the plane crash rather than survivng, can still walk, the cameria being able to record still, etc. On the side note how were you able to figure that part out from the credits PE? According the vial campaign The Monster came from the depths of the ocean and a Slushy company drilling rigs angered the monster
