^ that is the most mentally challenged thing i have ever seen you post you usually have some logic but COME ON You said it, big guy. I think the next possible war will involve Iran, Israel and invariably the US will be drawn into it. With the recent missile test, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's helpful rheotric, the long standing Nuclear issues and the record high fuel prices, things are set to blow in the middle east.

Wars, eh?
I don't think there will be any more 'major wars', since everyone seems to have interests in everywhere else (I'm talking financially). There'll be small wars from time to time, but it won't result in the end of life as we know it.
As for this E.U v U.S thing, I don't think so. There is no way that Ireland would declare war on the U.S, and even if they did, why would the rest of Europe back them up? I also think that if America seriously annoyed us, and the E.U members started co-operating with each other, we could win this hypothetical war. Since, as we all know, the peoples of Europe has been fighting wars much longer than the Yanks, you'd think we'd have picked up a thing or two over the centuries.

If you haven't noticed, the US bailed out Europe in both world wars. Not that is matters, really. Any major war, no matter the participants, would likely cause the 'end of the world' as some say, and drastically change the way everybody on the planet lives for quite some time. Nuclear weapons suck.

i don't think any country with nuclear weapons has the guts to use them against another country with nuclear weapons.

fine then lets say netherlands vs. belgium that could be fun. they are right next to each other so there would be no way they would use nuclear weapons

Hey, if its the fun factor, why not just up the ante on a hot cat fight? If only world wars qualify as major wars then, yes, there hasnt been a major war since world war two. Personally, I dont think there are any minor wars but if you want a war to effect the whole planet, all you have to do is involve major oil supplies which is pretty much the life blood of the planet right now.

There are other catalysts however that are involved... Beyond the fun factor, there will not be any major wars, because countries are now trying to 'unman' the wargrounds, there would be no need for physical fighting, because by the time another war comes around, it may be fought over the internet... Just a thought...

Yeah, I agree with Bag. Even wars today only include firearms and nuclear weapons...Not saying that anything is better.
Most wars that go on, I think, are over the most unnecessary topics.

Whichever the battleground or choice of weapons, war is war. Its part and parcel of the human condition. In a purely Darwinian point of view, you could argue that its the way that nature "thins out the herd" as it were for a species with no remaining natural predators.

^^ This is the most interesting turn of events we have had in a long time. I wonder what the UN Security Council's emergency meeting will yield.

This first part is This is why I don't like the UN. We don't need to get involved in Georgia's affairs. I don't mean to sound cruel, but GEORGIA'S PROBLEMS ARE NOT OURS. Look to George Washington's inaugural address, or Henry Cabot Lodge's speeches for information. I hope this doesn't bubble over, and if we get involved, our first strikes need to be to any nuclear sites and stockpiles. Then Moscow. And call this thing of when the snows come, or you'll get smacked around like the Nazis.

Well it's unfortunate for Georgia, they were trying to get into NATO before this whole mess.
The US is stretched so thin that we can't support them even if we were inclined to. The only other single world power that can project any sort of military power on their own is China... It's HIGHLY unlikely they'll even talk about the matter other than it's stealing the lime light from the Olympics.
My opinion, this is a Russian land grab to secure the oil pipe line. I really don't seem them trying to occupy the whole country after the mess they've been having with Chechnya.
Regardless this show how weak America has become as a super power when we can't help one of our allies.
