wow! So glad I checked out this thread. I'm 27 and I thought I was the oldest person here by far!! @ ethereal: I am a dedicated non-shipper, even though I like some of the possible pairings discussed. I figure I am more open to theories/speculation this way.... @gav: I was channel surfing one day and Avatar happened to be on. It was gorgeously presented, and the characters seemed interesting. Then, months later, it was on again, and I watched COD. I knew Zuko was on the 'bad' side and seeing him waffle, then finally choose 'bad' - it was amazing! It's rare to find writing that gutsy in adult programming, let alone something marketed at kids! You mean when he chose to be bad in CoD? Yeah, that had me shocked, too. It's moments like those that make like Avatar. I mean, it would have been SO cliche if he chose to be good at that moment ^^; Oh and a non shipper~!? That takes willpower! Lol. I bet that you have better judgment on things because of that, haha~

Could I ask the older people here a question? I hope I'm not being rude, and it's a bit off-topic... I'm just curious, really, as to what you would do if you found out that your child was writing T to M rated fics. There's alot of the stuff out there, alot of "smut"... and it's hard to believe that even half of it is written by person over the age of 18 ^^;

If I found out my kid was writing T and M fics, I'd be a little shocked...but I wouldn't get that upset mainly cuz I did the same thing when I was in middle/highschool. But I would definitely encourage them to write more appropriately without trying to hinder their creativity.
Honestly though? I'd be more worried if my kid was writing horribly violent, sadistic fics than anything else... >.>

I've watched the show since it aired here in the Netherlands. I was 20 at that time. I'm turning 22 in 43 days...

Well I'm not sure if I replied on here earlier, but I am 23 years old, and I still watch this show, I just wish Nick would get time to show it, because it makes me a bit edgy I guess.

I just turned 42, and I am a very big fan of the show. I love reading these chatboards because frankly the kids' shows when I was young were nowhere near as good as this. I hope you can all appreciate the quality writing.
Remember that the people who produced this show aren't talking down to you - they clearly respect your intelligence. It's a sign of respect I can tell that many of you very much deserve. I know my kids, who first got me hooked, deserve it. To see this in a show geared to teens and pre-teens is a wonderful thing.
I only wish they didn't play games with when they aired the episodes!

I am going to be 22 soon. Now, thinking back, I wish I had shows like this growing up. Well there was Barney, but what the heck did that teach me?

That was a show with a great big epic storyline and a good mythology. It also has a devoted fandom, many of whom go to an annual convention that's dedicated to the series.

Nero: Oh snap, how I can forget Gargoyles! My favorite was that lady one, I can't remember any of the names. My mom use to love that show too. She's an avid cartoon lover. Man all these old shows make me wish for like 2 seconds I was little again.
