A few things:
1. Kataang has conflict and obstacles and stuff, like Aang's Avatar State problem.
2. Zutara wouldn't be the most interesting relationship to watch unfold. If you're into enemyshipping, Zaang is where it's at! Besides, there are a lot of ships in which the two characters are enemies, e.g. Sokkla, Azulaang, kind-of Jetara, Tykka, Azuki etc. And they would all be just as interesting, and have about as much canon evidence.
3. Mai is very shippy! She needs someone to love, to bring her out of her shell. I'm a big Mai fan, and I think she's entirely shipworthy.
4. Jetko is canon! Talk to Kyatto, she (...or is it HE now?) has a long list of evidence.
5. Toph has breasts! You can see them in City of Walls and Secrets! ...I mean, you can see that they exist. And if Aang is at a shipworthy age, so is Toph. She's old enough to be attracted to Sokka, so she's old enough to be shipped. Hell, people ship Hope and Tom-Tom. They're babies. You're never too young to be shipped.
6. In regard to Shirozora's post, I think Katara's former crush on Jet and Toph's mild crush on Sokka are certain as well.

In regard to Shirozora's post, I think Katara's former crush on Jet and Toph's mild crush on Sokka are certain as well. First...yah, totally forgot about those two. *headdesk* Secondly....WHAT?! PEOPLE SHIP HOPE AND TOM-TOM?!!! ARE THEY INSANE?! Okay, that is just WRONG. They're friggin' babies! If you wanna ship Hope and Tom-Tom, go friggin' future-set. My gods, people these days....... Okay, I get age and modern age limits' irrelevance in the Avatarverse but really, there are some age limits as to when you're declared a man or a woman, and when you're declared marriagable. Avatarverse is based on the old Asia, and in old Asia, Europe, Africa, and Americas, there are some age limits on when you're a kid, an adult, a married person, an elder, etc. It's just that we're not used to how young people are when they marry. I still have some problems with Kataang and Soph, no offense to those shippers. And Hope x Tom-Tom? *shakes head* No. Just...no. ~Shirozora

IMO, I think Harutara, Sukka, and Maiko will most likely set sail. Harutara, because Aang and Zuko are too complicated to have a relationship now. Sukka, because...well, they love each other. Maiko, because Mai and Zuko show signs of having an intimate past, and I think it's cute.

Shirozora, please do tell Kataang and Soph seeme to have you in a bit of defensive mode? *sigh* It's a personal thing. I see no point in going up against people out there who've compiled piles upon piles of evidence and arguments for these two ships. It's just that I have a preference for ships that aren't so obvious and out there. I detest obvious ships/relationships, be it cartoons, anime, tv shows, books, movies, etc. Obvious stuff aren't fun stuff, and if things are to be obvious, there'd better be enough twists to make me want to ship it. And that's not what I'm picking up from Kataang/Soph. It's just not.....fun. To a lesser extent I'm actually rather picky about age and personalities. I prefer similar ages/personalities that clash and mesh to relationships that disregard young ages (if they're older, I wouldn't care at all) and ignore some of the reality that I see seeping into a cartoon, namely what I see as the basis for Aang's crush-turn-love for Katara. I wasn't surprised at all that Aang had a crush on Katara; I have a very realistic view and I almost expect him to crush on her. She's one of the first two people he's met since crash-landing with Appa into the waters, and she's very nice to boot. With Soph, girls tend to go for older guys, period. Of course there's exceptions and people who arent like that but a majority of girls do go for older guys. Okay, mayb I do have some arguments for what I have against Kataang/Soph, but these arguments have nothing to do with what's been shown in the actual show itself, so really, my arguments are all....baseless. Whatever. Life is absurd, after all. ~Shirozora

Shirozora: You really shouldn't let shipping fandom get to you so much. If you have your reasons for dis/liking certain ships fine, most shippers won't hold that against you, whatever they are. I myself wonder why people get so defensive and bark 'Canon!' like it means something. I ship what I like and when/if I stop liking it I'll stop shipping it. And as long as no one calls my Soko art Zutara any more no one in Zutara fandom will have to die.

True....I think my lack of sleep on school nights is starting to get to me. Meh, you all have your fun. I'll just.....catch up on hw and sleep and try to be in a better mood the next time I join the shipping arguments. ;D ~Shirozora

Kataang, Soph, and yes Maiko are fun for me, to me its just interesting to watch things grown and developed into bigger things, although for the latter two not much has been seen, and still remains to be seen in season 3, unlike Kataang which has been blooming over the span of two seasons. This is the first actual ship with canon evidence I have shipped, so I can relate to you in some things, but there was just something about this particular ship that just grabbed me, and it has held me in.

Hmmm... Sokkla--Azula's incabable of human emotions. She'd kill him. Azulaang--sweet baby jesus, no. She friggin' shot him in the back! Jetara--Jet's dead. Ask pooldude. Tykka--I like that one, but Suki would have to be dead for that to happen. Azuki--I think it's been pretty confirmed that Suki's straight ;p Maybe she dabbles, but then there's still the whole problem of, y'know, Azula having no soul.
Jetko irks me a little. It's not because it's a slash ship, it's because it's so illogical. My favorite thing in the world is reason and logic, so I can't read anything about that one without my head exploding. Sadly, it ruins the funny-ness of it. Same goes for something as crazy as Azulaang. It's so impossible I can't even joke about it =/
I have to agree that obvious ships aren't as fun. My favorite book series has so many characters that there's like 40 different romantic pairings, but it's the unexpected ones that are the most interesting. Like the main character and this one girl have a "will they, won't they?" relationship for the first three books, and then slowly they realize they don't love each other and wind up with someone else. In the first book, it reveals that two of the major characters have feelings for each other, and it's so out of the blue when you first read it, you're like "What??" Then you re-read the book, and spot a buttload of really, really subtle hints. And then you have two side characters, both women, who both supposedly dissapear from time to time, making you think "Ohh, they're up to something evil!" and then WHAM, turns out they were just hiding away to make out with each other ;p
To stop ranting about something none of you have any idea about...yeah, I think the un-obvious ships are more interesting.
About Mai...I really need to see more of her to think of her as "lovable." Right now I still know her as the monotone, depressed person who threw knives at her baby brother.

There is no fluffy romance in Jetko! It's not about the romance! It's about the angsty disturbing buttrape! *slaps palm to forhead* Am I the only one who got Rape-The-Boy vibes when watching that episode?
Azulaang would only happen if Azula locked Aang in a prison and got bored one night because her minions weren't there to please her.

I'm sure Azula's not incapable of human emotion. If she was, I would be very disappointed in a show which I like partly because of its well-developed three-dimensional characters. And she shot Aang in the back... Katara froze Zuko, Zuko betrayed Katara, and yet the Zutarians have yet to give up hope. Besides, even if Azula doesn't feel emotion, most Azula ships aren't fluffy. They're like Jetko - they're about slightly disturbing not-really consensual... erm, relations (except Tyzula, because nothing with Ty Lee in it isn't fluffy. And with Ty Lee it would totally be consensual)
And woah, Suki has to be dead for Tykka to work? What's wrong with a break-up?! I had no idea that your average boyfriend-girlfriend relationship was so... serious!
Suki could easily be bisexual! She travels around alone with a group of teenage girls who are at her command, and the first time she kissed Sokka he was dressed as a girl. It's evidence enough for me.
Jetko is fairly logical, if you look at Jet's hatred of the Fire Nation as forshadowing an FN love interest (which I do). We know that Jet isn't actually a bad guy, it's his prejudices that make him bad. So for him to develop as a character, he has to get over those prejudices. And what better way to get over your prejudices than a bit of boy love with a smexy prince?
I'm sure Mai has a loving human side somewhere. Click the link in my sig and read (and review!) my views on the subject if you want.

It's too late for Azula's character to do a 180 and suddenly become lovable. Zuko's 3 times more caring than she is, and it's still taken him 2 seasons to still be evil. I don't see Aang forgetting the wild obsession he's had with Katara, ignoring what the guru said, and suddenly wanting to snuggle with the girl who shot him. I still can't hear anyone talk about Jetko and take them seriously If you truly, swear to god, honestly, not even kidding, 100%, cross your heart and hope to die believe in it...then I'd just be worried Suki and Sokka could break up, but I doubt it. What, Sokka's going to finally reunite with her after her apparent death and say "Sorry, I think we should see other people"? Not that I think it's impossible, just too unlikely to have much merit. Suki could be bisexual. But Azula's asexual. Azula has a swirling vortex of death and terror where her vagina should be. And yes, you can quote me on that. Mai might have a loving side somewhere...but right now it's invisible.
