I have to say that I don't really see any of the main characters "ending up" with one of the oneshot characters, but I probably could see them involved in some sort of romance with a main character (e.g. Haru returns with an army, Katara and Haru have lots of cute moments, share a kiss, then Haru dies. I dunno, something like that). I'm not sure I agree that any romance with Zuko would take a while to develop, after all whether she returns or not Jin was a romantic interest.
The Toph/Haru thing made me laugh... Haru is such a girl...
Okay, since I pretty much agree with you (although I kinda like Soko, after Maiko) and therefore can't think of any good arguments against what you've said, what about relationships between oneshot characters who return? For example, Song/Haru? Lee/Meng? Jin/Teo? Okay, maybe not Jin/Teo. What I mean is, do you think that if the oneshot characters return, they'll be involved in any sort of romance? Or do you think they aren't important enough? Two oneshot characters who have made a return are possibly hinted at being in a romantic relationship (Longshot and Smellerbee) so do you think it's possible for Song, Haru, Jin, Teo, Meng, Lee and Foaming Mouth Guy?

That's kind of what they did with Sokka and Yue. They might do it again, but it would be kind of a repeating trend. Plus, the only two oneshots to return for second episodes now both appear to be dead :0
You have to remember how Zuko's date with Jin ended. It would take a while to work out some some issues. First he has to be willing to admit who/what he is to her, she has to accept him, and then we have to delve into all of the psycological issues. And where's the time? He's gonna be busy.
Two oneshot characters hooking up? Maybe, but...who cares? ;p They wouldn't get much screentime, just like one shot of them smooching after the war's over or something.

I'd just be happy if some of those characters on your list even showed up in season three - although I maintain a great many minor and crackships that involve one-shot characters like Teo.

I'm pretty sure that Haru, Teo and Song will show up again. And Soru would make me very happy. At least Haru could be the guy in that relationship.

I ship Teo with several people - but some of the pairings are slash *cough*Teru*cough*. I also ship Kateo and Mekka.

Teru? LOL. I've never liked Kateo, and Mekka has never even crossed my mind. I've heard that Teo is the lovechild of Jeru though ;D

That's an interesting theory. My favourite Teo ship however, is Aaeo. And Meng/Sokka (Mekka) came to my attention because of the whole "big ears" conversation. It was emphasised so much in episode six when Sokka and Katara had their "argument" - and then it was emphasised again in "The Fortuneteller"

You're right, the "big ears" thing does work pretty well for Mekka... but check out Long Feng's ears! Wow! They're pretty huge! I think I remember Aaeo being discussed in the Slasher's Basement... something about a much-needed lap dance?

I hadn't heard that about the lap dance *looks around suspiciously* Why was I not informed of this development?

I've missed debating. And this time, I will be civil (Me? Civil? Who would have thunk it?). I've been driving my SS teacher crazy. ~I am still a complete Zutara shipper, but I can understand Kataang. I do have a question for a Kataang-er: Kataang has had canon moments. Why are the shippers so defensive? ~I can't see slash pairings happening, but they seem to be getting easier to happen. Besides, the Creators may just have lost their minds. I mean, they are making us wait until APRIL!! ~ yiceman: Back a couple of pages, you said that you don't like faith. Faith along with hope are some of the things that keep us humans. Faith is what holds us together. When anything (these points are not about Avatar anymore) gets desparte, humans don't give up. Just a thought. ~Here's a random idea for the pairings in Season 3 if the Creators lose their minds: Aang's in love with Azula. Ty Lee is also in love with Azula. Aang and Ty Lee get into a big fight. Azula's in love with Zhao. Sokka's in love with Katara who's in love with Mai who's in love with Zuko who's in love with Appa who's in love with the Guru who's in love with bananas who are in love with onions. I thought of this in the middle of the night. ~There's a slasher basement?

What exactly do you mean by defensive? When somebody uses an argument against our ship we simply debate back.
I don't understand what your getting at...

I've noticed the defensiveness. I suspect it's because the show has been leaning heavily in the direction of that ship, some folks think that kataang is so obvious they can't believe anyone could doubt it. They're set on it, because they are CERTAIN it will happen.
This is what I was talking about concerning having too much faith. Faith and hope aren't bad things, but when abused they can cloud a person's mind to facts. If you believe with all your heart that something will happen, you're not willing to accept someone else's ideas that it might not. I've been wanting to post my idea that Aang won't wind up with anyone in the kataang and taang threads, but have been worried that folks in there won't even be open to discuss the possibility.

i guess everyone can get defensive over their ships . anyway yiceman, taang fans have been looking for discussion so i don't think any of us would mind if you tried that kind of discussion in the taang thread. lunauc would definitely love a discussion.

~There's a slasher basement? Yep. I don't think any of the slash shippers expect slash to "happen" in the sense that Yuokka and Sukka "happened", but it's nice to dream. And if slash were to happen (not counting Jetko, that already happened if you believe Kyatto) then I would love Mike and Bryan forever.
