I've always liked the Avatar board looking like the biggest board here D;
But as long as Theories gets to stay an active section of its own merit, then I'm happy. I'll repeat that I don't really care for the DH Gen/DH Board separation, but I wouldn't care if they were combined either, because it's not really a big problem for me.
And frankly, the sports>TV thing seems pretty weak as the board is a section for people into sports itself, not necessarily about Athletes on TV.

I'm not sure as to why everyone thinks that people want to move the forum's centre to something than Avatar. :/ I've never said, and I don't think anyone else has said, the forum's main focus should be other than Avatar. Perhaps it's been made that for NOW the Avatar sections will slow down due to the show no longer airing and the movies/future projects will not be released for a while, but I'm pretty sure that no one has said we need to change the forum's focus to something else. :/ The thing is that this forum is an attachment an extension of the Distant Horizons: an Avatar fansite. Changing the direction of the forum away from Avatar changes what this forum was made for. People come here from the main site expect a discussion for Avatar not OTHER categories. It would be like going to an ESPN forum expecting to talk about sports and instead getting a forum that was predominantly about the Last Unicorn movie. The Other categories will still exist but the forum main prerogative will always be on Avatar the Last airbender

Tung, you know I love ya, but this post makes me think you mis-read what Para wrote. No one has suggested changing the focus of the forum away from Avatar - in fact, Para and night just said that's not what they want.

Ah, well that's good to hear. ^^; I read through the whole thread again and found I misunderstood a few posts' wording regarding the change -- it originally looked to me that the minimizing of the Avatar boards was so that the Other boards would become the more prominent visual focus of the forum.
Thanks to Kaneda's map, I see now that the change would just make the two sections more equal in size, thus making the front page not as long. I can appreciate the aesthetics of that, but I still need to mull it over more before deciding on anything, especially when it comes to the board/sub-board combinations. I am not in favor of merging any of the current boards, though. Each of the main Ava boards (minus Gen) have a specific focus, and merging any of them will make it less organized, especially since they all have a lot of threads.
As for TAG, I actually don't have a strong opinion on its fate one way or the other. If the TAGians decide they still have use for it and want it to stay, then let it stay. If the TAGians decide it has served its purpose can can be merged with OGB, then let it be merged. My only suggestion/opinion on the matter is that if TAG is merged/closed, that the board be turned into an archive for its members.
For the DH category merger, I could see Legendary being put as a sub-board in Trash Bin, to go along with the Pumpkin board and the old Olympics board. Aside from that, I could see a merger of Suggestions and Questions/Help since they go along a similar line, but it might not work out well as repetitive questions might push down suggestions.

Rofl, Tung. xD
@ Jade - Perhaps there can be a combo board for Suggestions/Questions, and within the board there can be a subboard for each? It won't do much besides making the forum less huge, and that is what I want to aim for.

As a general rule we try to avoid subboards as much as possible because they have a tendency to get less traffic...I'd say we just combine the boards. It wouldn't be that difficult to get rid of repetative questions if we kept the FAQ up to date I wouldn't think.

True. I'd support combining the two as well. Both boards aren't insanely active, so a merge wouldn't be a problem.
