^ Aang did describe it as the Glowing Egg but the Sun Warriors called it a Sun Stone without explaining its significance. Edit: It just occured to me to wonder if the names of the dragons, Ran & Shaw, is a play on the name of Sir Run Run Shaw, the asian media mogul. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Run_Run_Shaw

Not quite. It's actually "Ran" and "Shao", which together means "burning" in Mandarin.
So it fits.

"It's some kind of mystical gemstone." "Well, don't touch it!" "Why not?" "I'm just very suspicious of giant glowing gems sitting on pedestals."
This entire scene, up until "You had to pick up the glowing egg, didn't you?" may be my favorite scene of the whole series.

"Since you found out about our secret civilization, you have to be imprisoned for eternity!" "..." "... Just kidding!" "*Phew*" "But seriously: DON'T TELL ANYONE!"
That just cracked me up. xD
I loved this episode. It was so enlightening. And the colors The Duke: the COLORS!!!!

Haha awesome episode. I'm not going to lie, its not as exciting as it would be if I haven't seen it already, but it was a much better experience to watch it on TV than on the computer. I actually laughed and enjoyed the episode this time. Anyways I'm super pumped for thursday episodes and onwards since those are the episodes that I haven't seen online yet, and well thank goodness too.
I would have to agree the gem stone scene was probably my of favorite scene in the whole clip, I laughed really hard. Its nice to see Aang and Zuko building a brotherly relationship. Technically then are related in spirit, so I'm not surprise that they bounded so well.
I have to say Katara is such a big jerk, I'm curious to see what will cause her to soften up to Zuko, bring on "The Southern Raiders"
But I think what made this episode for me, is the fact that I got to know more about Iroh past, he seems like a great man even before he lost his son, so it show that at least someone in the family kept their humanity. I really hope we learn more about his past, but with the series coming to a close, I'm not too certain.
P.S. I think the gem stone is actually an egg. I mean Zuko did say it felt "warm" and "alive."
Overall good episode, good message. I wish to learn a little bit more about the Sun People.

^^Once again, I stayed true to the original airdate. Well, I'm happy that we finally got some more indignious American inspiration. At first I always thought that the City of Omashu was inpsired by a mixture of the Incan city of Monchu Pichu and the Aztec city of Teotihuacan. But I see that the empire of the Sun Warriors much more suited Teotihuacan, and the temple architecture made me squeal when it reminded me of the faced of Quetizcotl on the temple that was dedicated to him. That, and I thought the orb was in homage of "Raiders of the Lost Arc".

Oh I forgot criticism:
I think the only thing I have to criticize about this episode is the one some of the things the sun emperor like "No seriously don't tell anyone." It just doesn't seem to fit him all to well, I was hoping he be more like a spiritually wise emperor, a little bit more serious.
Also, I know this is a kid show and all, but I wish the talks about harmony wasn't so dumbed down for little kids, and briefly discussed, it wasn't anything like "Iroh Talks" or "Guru Talks" of season two, which I cherished. To me they were like "yeah firebending, harmony, life...."
One thing I've notice, I think the sun empire's architecture seems to also have a mix of thai influences in it. Like the pointy pagoda like structures and flame design surrounding the entrance way.

The sun warrior's home struck me as being sort of Mayan or Aztec, or something, like the pyramid in the center. But it was probably based off of Thai influences.
I thought they goofed around a bit too much but the dragon dance was EPIC.
And of course, "You just HAD to touch the glowing egg, didn't you?" XD
My love for Iroh grew in this episode. He saved the last two dragons for extinction. YAY!!!!

^@storyteller: Haha. The funniest thing about this series is that the wise, elders say these spontaneous things that you'd think they'd never say.
