I don't have a scanner at all, so anything I draw tends to stay in my sketchbook. XD What do you guys think would be the thing that would make Aang fall for Toph? He needs to be rid of his 'Special K' addiction first. Boy's world right now is just two things. 1. Beat the Fire Lord. 2. Beat the Fire Lord for Katara. Not the world. Just Katara. At least that's how it seems to me. I think an addendum to his list would occur after he beats Ozai. 3. Live a happily ever after in a perfect never before imagined married life with Katara, so perfect it's the stuff of sunshine and candy canes. Where the world is perfect and everything smells like lemon juice and Pledge furniture cleaner. ROFL! You, my dear, are getting karma for that! Special K. I dont' think I'll look at that cereal the right way again XD

Aang: Too bad I can't stay with the 2nd one forever ;D every boy on earth: you do, trust me. OH DEAR GOD!!!! Now I won't be able to eat that cereal because I might get addicted.

Special K is also the street slang for Ketamine.
I was using that as the joke not the cereal.
Though when I first saw a box of Special K (It's not common where I live), I just started laughing in the middle of the supermarket.
My God...I just referred to one of the kindest characters on the show as a controlled substance...
What next?
Ty Lee as the poster child for anti-depressent addiction?
Mai as the spokeswoman for how tranquilizers kill your love life?
Bumi on a campaign against marijuana? (You've seen the way he dresses! He must be smoking something!)
Way I see it...
Zuko: Got off at Angst Town and decided to stay there
Haru: Took a little side trip to Pirate Facial Hair Junction.
"Captain Sokka?"
"Hmm?"
"Who's that?"
"Oh. Him? No one, he's no one... distant cousin of my aunt's nephew, twice removed... lovely singing voice though....Eunuch."
Sokka: Slept through the whole trip, though he woke up twice to use the bathrooms at Moon Glade Station and Golden Fans End. Currently waiting to get his luggage at Manly Depot.
Aang and Katara: Sadly got off at the wrong stop and are currently lost and wandering the streets of Misplaced Affection.
Azula: Skipped the train and flew, Business Class mind you, straight to Female Dog Island.
Mai: Current resident of 'Don't Give a dang' Fields. The train doesn't run by her place.
Ty Lee: She lives on the Puberty Train. She is not disembarking any time soon.
Toph: Patiently waiting for the train at Shy and Awkard Teen Crush Junction.

Neither plums or babies. The amount of seconds he can hold out against Toph without airbending. and, how can I feel sorry for Aang, and envy him so much at the same time?

Mike, you eat Special K? o____O
I thought kids liked cereals with sugar, like, Frosted Flakes ("they're geerrreat!") or Trix ("silly rabbit, Trix are for kids").
You don't usually find preteens eating things like Fiber One or stuff like that. XD
marvel, Ketamine? Omg, that didn't even occur to me! LOL. I get it now. He must've been snorting it in "Nightmares and Daydreams".
Ty Lee as Prozac, gd, that made me laugh.
Maybe Toph can beat the addiction out of him. If only he'd let her do the accupuncture.

Beggers can't be choosers, but if a begger gets a choice they take their best choice. Since at times there are only 3 cereals in my house, and for w/e reason my mom always buys whatever cereal is on sale, including craptastic ones like cheerios (I hate those, and so does everyone else in my house, my mom should think, is it saving money to buy cereal no one is gonna eat?) I take the best thing in the food cabinet, and sometimes that's special K, or Life, or something like that. but Sugary cereals are the 2nd best. next to flakey cereal with fake(or maybe dried) fruit in it. 3rd is life chocolate. 4th is special K and the like. 5th is any other cereal except cheerios. 6th-100,000 th are various items that aren't cheerios. 100,001st is cheerios.
and do you think Toph really knows how to do acupuncture?? Or is she just trying to pretend like she can help so they can't complain "you're not even trying to help", and was about to shove needles into various parts of Aang's body? Or maybe she just trying to have fun

Toddlers like Cheerios though. XD I give it to my nephews all the time, and they love it. Of course, it could be cause they don't have much of a pallette yet, but eh.
I like cereals, like Chex, or Rice Krispies. I used to love Cinnamen Toast Crunch and Honey Bunches of Oats, but now they're just waay too sweet and I can't stand them.
You eat pretty healthy for a kid though. XD (that's a compliment, btw)
As for Toph, who knows? Maybe she does know acupuncture. She's blind, so she's probably more sensative to all the different parts of the body. She knew something about massaging, and that's therapeutic. XD

I just wonder how a back pounding from Toph, didn't break Aang's spine. LOL. If you knew me in RL you'd know that's not true. But TY Oh yea, has this series of short stories been posted yet?? They're good. lol and Toddlers have no taste

Here's an older Toph that just came in today! ^_^ I've seen a lot of versions of this concept, but I think I like this one the best. Also! I do beleive I've found the cause of Toph's Blindness!! Cataracts! This means there's nothing wrong with her eyes per se, there's just a covering over the front, which can be romoved through surgury. Granted, the technology and skill needed for said surgury is a bit out of Avatar's scope. Which means: Toph just might be able to see!

Mike, huh, are you trying to insult me? XD Your preference in taste change as you get older. Just think babies and Beechnut baby food jars. Sweet potato and yellow squash. Yech. But my nephew goes crazy over it, so there you go. XD
K9, whoa, cataracts, I never would've thought of that! It totally fits, so maybe, just maybe, there is hope.
Here's a question. Ever since Toph joined the group, and Katara had that thing of magic water, why did she never think to use it on Toph to heal her blindness? It would've been worth a shot, it might've actually worked.

^Probably because Toph doesn't make a big deal about it. It doesn't impair her a lot, so Katara wasn't going out of her way to heal her. If Toph's eyes were hurting her, I'm sure Katara would have healed them. Toph doesn't seem to mind that much anyway. She got so strong because she's blind, why take that away?
And think about all of her "There's the Library!"-type jokes that we'd never get. >.<
You know, Cataracts kind of sounds like Katara.

Hmmm...good question. But there is a post war fanfic focusing on Katara healing Toph's eyes. Personally I like it but that's my taste. Editted: Never mind about what I originally said. XD Like Bagpipeturtle said, she seems comfortable....even if flying is not her best comfort....and water.

That fic looks interesting. But there's character death -___- so I'm guessing Toph is going to die ><

1. Because it never occured to her to try.
2. Medical science of the Avatar world might not be that advanced. Katara might not know what a cataract is.
3. She was born blind, so they must have figured a spirit was involved. Can't heal that.
4. Script says only the hero gets to use the truly epic items. So whaddya want? Toph able to see...or Aang looking like he glided right into some active powerlines?
It's rare for a child to be born with cataracts as they tend to occur in the elderly, but recently in my country a 20 month old toddler was in the news for being the youngest person in my country to have corrective eye surgery.
What I want to know is why the Bei Fong's kept Toph around. It's obvious they have some shame of her as they don't want the world to know about her. Sheltering her is one thing but denying her existence is another. Stereotypically for those with 'Old Money', they tend to favour reputation and status. Having a blind child would have hurt their standing amongst their rich peers.
Yet they must love her enough to keep her instead of dumping her at some doorstep or even outright killing her...this might be Mrs Bei Fong's doing I believe, a mother would never want to see her child harmed, no matter what. Unless the woman is downright unfit to be one.
Hence that might explain the extreme overprotectiveness.
What would really get me steamed is that some fortune teller may have told Lao that his first born would be a good luck charm that will bring in prosperity and that despite his distaste to having a blind child he kept Toph around just so her presence would bless the family business.
