If anyone lives around Western Maryland, a.k.a the Hagerstown area, Death Note the movie is coming to Regal cinemas on May 20th and 21st. I'm personally stoked. I've seen it before, but it is an entirely different experience in theaters!

Do you know if the movie is going to any OTHER theaters? I live in Connecticut, and would LOVE to see this movie in theaters!

It's coming to a theater near where I live (Texas). Same days, the 20th and 21st.

I'm super excited because our local theatre is showing it. My brother pointed it out to me and everything. <33
I just hope I can go see it. xD

Guys, just go online and type Death Note movie in US, list of theaters. The movie is showing at like 5-6 local theaters pretty close to me in San Jose, CA. Two of the theaters are actually major theaters that everyone goes to. My sister saw the add for it while watching "Baby Mama" the other day. The same theaters are going to show Bleach: Memories of Nobody dubbed on Wednesday June 11 as well. I am probably going to buy my tickets online because I am guessing all the theaters will be sold out if I go that day. Century and AMC theaters are both selling tickets online for their theaters through fandango. www.cinemark.com/century_showtimes.asp?fandango_id=AARBXScroll down and you'll see it.

Eh, I was never big on the live action movie. A bit too cheesy. Although maybe I had a bad translation.

Sooo, since this is live action.... Does this mean their voices won't match their lip movements?

^ I think the movie industry has the technology to make voices match up to lip movement. It's mostly a difference between voices. I do like the dubbed anime better than the subbed so it should work for me. Edit: I finally managed to find the trailer for it. I guess they are still using the Red Hot Chili Peppers song: Dani California as the theme song. www.fangoria.com/deathnote/The trailer showed that the dubbed voices seem to match up fine. Light sounded good and L matched up very well from what I saw. Here is the info on the trailer. It looks pretty good besides the mentally challenged narrator. Not a wise choice there for the trailer. Ryuk sounded pretty cool. www.fangoria.com/news_article.php?id=6064Here is a pretty good site to look up movie tickets on. You can go to fandango as well. I bought 2 tickets from fandango already. www.fathomevents.com//details.aspx?eventid=719

I highly doubt it's going to come to the theaters where I live. I don't think they show anime

Ugh, as soon as I found out that the movie is dubbed, I lost interest. Even if they did an excellent job matching lip movements, it bothers me. Why couldn't they just sub it? So that I and everyone else can hear the Japanese voices? These are live people and someone elses voice is going to come from there lips. No, Sorry. I'll watch it online, if I have to, since they'll probably not have the movie subbed on the DVD.

^ It doesn't really make a difference to me. It think of it like dubbing the anime where the original voice actors were japanense. The only difference is that the dubbing is of actual live actors which I don't mind. I actually think its quite interesting and sort of prefer it over the subbed because it gets rid of having to read subbed text on the bottom of the theater screen. uverworldluv Check the website I put the link up for or fandango. I'm sure there is some theater close by that is showing it. If not, its most likely because you live in small town. There are 2 theaters in San Jose, CA that are showing it. The problem for most people is that many people are still in school on May 20 and 21. In my case, finals end on May 21 so I can catch the 7:30 movie (only time it airs each day). Note: I just find out that apparently the dubbed VA for the movies are actually the same VA for the dubbed anime. Based on that, I think the movie should be better than I expected. Also, according to animenewsnetwork, the second death note movie is listed as "coming soon". www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2008-04-14/1st-death-note-film-to-run-in-300+u.s-theaters-in-mayHere is the complete list of movie theaters showing the movie on May 20 & 21. www.fathomevents.com/news/default.aspx?newsid=122
