Snowboarding takes pretty intense concentration and good physical prowess. I know that firsthand. Skateboarding has to be pretty similar. There's a few ppl that train in both.

Oh I'm so so so excited for the Olympics!! I love them so much. I like summer over winter too. ^_^
I really like swimming, gymnastics, volleyball and diving. But I love all of it. I'm going on vacation the fifth of August so I'll miss the beginning though. :/

I love the Olympics and am counting the days (29 I believe)
I watch pretty much any thing but faves are Gymnastics and Taekwondo (even if it is a different style to my own) Sorry to break it to you guys but Baseball/Softball doesnt really deserve to be in it the only places I can think of where its popular is USA and Japan every where else in the world thinks its boring to watch. Skateboarding is insanly popular through out the world and is very exciting.
Wushu shouldnt be included either it would be like having a patterns event for TKD which no one apart from practitioners would get but sparring actually has points system

Baseball is not as international as we would like it...it is growing, but far from being Omni-present... but 2010 should be Winter Olympics if my math is not failing me... Well to make notes about this, lets say the US Government is having some uneasy issues about it's security for the 2010 games, but also it seems they are trying to shut out Washington State from being involved from the games for tourism, and that makes me angry enough, because the fact is, I don't live far from where the games are going to be shown, lets in terms of being the next door neighbor as getting easier to get up there, besides I think it'd be perfect that I'd attend this.

Outside of the current ongoing topic I would like to post some more of my thoughts regarding the summer Olympics.
To share my opinion on this sport event I've started to ask myself some questions on which I started to ponder, and to which I invite others, if they feel like it, to shed their own light on. The questions are: - What sport are you most anxious of watching? - Who's your favourite athlete/player? - Which country is the favourite to win the most medals according to you? - What country will be, if any, the big surprise during this tournament?
1) I'm most looking forward to watching football during these Olympics, especially due to the Dutch Olympic squad. I feel we've got a good roster of players and we might be able to surprise others and perhaps even end up with a price of some sort, although it'll be very though with teams like Italy, Brazil and Argentina as rivalling competitors. Also it's extra special to me because my regular local club, namely AZ, contributes the most players to the soccer Olympics. Not just for the Dutch squad but also for countries like Belgium, Argentina, etc.
2) I don't really have a favourite athlete if I'm quite honest. I'm a big sport enthusiast, but I'm kind of obscured about which athletes are participating at the Olympics this year. On the other hand, I know Sergio Romero is playing for the Argentine squad in the football division. He's the AZ goalie, and one of my favourite players. I think I'll go for Sergio as my answer. Also because I recently begun to like tennis I have to add Nadal to my list of favourites.
3) Realistically speaking I think there are three countries that can emerge as favourites for the prices, namely China, the host, the United States, who has a big delegation and a history of good performances at the Olympics, and Russia, to whom the same arguments as the latter one go. But I have to pick one don't I? Well I have to go with China then... because I think home advantage will prove to be the most important argument. Chauvinistic and patriotic as they are they don't want to lose in front of their own supporters.
4) Which country will be the surprise? This question is a bit hard to answer of course. But I'm going to give it a shot anyway, without me trying to be chauvinistic I think either Holland or some other European country might end up surprising the world. Naturally this is just a guess, but if I look at the sport roster, I see some sports where we could surprise, besides football I think we could do well on the rowing division, gymnastics and the fighting sports. We've got some really talented and good players in those branches

I'm hoping to watch some Team Handball. While the US isn't competing in it, I did see some clips of the sport on youtube and it looks very entertaining.
I kinda want to watch Judo this year as I always say I'd watch it but never do.
Of course on the American side I'm watching Micheal Phelps and Team USA basket ball.
hmmm maybe some sand volleyball for the Misty and Kerri.
Ooo and maybe for the 1st time some Tae Kwan Do as there's an interesting story about an Iranian girl that has a good shot at winning the gold for her weight division.

I watched the opening ceremony last night and it was INTENSE. I really loved it, actually. The amount of work to organize it must have been immense; it really was a coming out for China.

I watched Badminton last night and my goodness I was surprised! It's so intense and completely the opposite of the slow, gym class badminton I'm used to xDD It's much more physical than I imagined it to be but it looks really cool

I thought that he was going to fall for a second when he was up on the harness. It nearly gave me a heart attack! But I also have to add that I love the medal designs this year. I think they're really classy and pretty

The ceremony just pwned every other one that there has been. I loved the lighting of the torch part too. The dude srsly looked like he was running. ;D
All I've watched so far is part of the Women's Volleyball. It was Netherlands against USA? I'm not too sure. My favorite olympic sports though include gymnastics and swimming. Maybe I'll catch it on TV in the next few days.
