@vp: Tone down the China hate. It's your right to despise it but at least keep it to yourself. It's only insulting to people who do love China or are Chinese. Anyways, I watched the Nigeria vs Belgium football match today. Or the soccer match as Americans call it. Too bad Belgium lost, I really wanted them to go to the big finale. But at least they have a shot to winning bronze so let's hope they win it.

I despise China now. I mean, I didn't like them before, you know the whole human rights violation thing. But these Olympics, specifically gymnastics (men and women's), where the judges are BLATANTLY being bias in favor of the Chinese, robbing tons of things. (such as Nastia on the bars, and the spanish dude on the floor) is too much. The Chinese are CHEATERS. FRACK them China now goes in my last of most hated countries, right behind North Korea and Turkey. not a pro-chinese bias..but rather anti-amerikkkan... according to IOC regulations..there were no chinese (or US) judges sitting on the panel...but its not just the chinese that hate amerikkka.. the whole world hates amerikkka..and with good reasons (iraq..afghanistan..guantanamo..abu ghraib just to name a few)... unlike their chinese counterparts..however..the american gymnasts get to vote..and hopefully they will realize what happened when they go to the polls in novemeber...

Let's keep the discussion solely on the Olympics and keep the bashing of countries out. So no more anti-China or anti-US or anti-whatever country in this thread. I don't want to see any fights started over this.
Now back to the Olympics.
Thank you.

why are you spelling america with three ks? I was watching water polo semis today and i was just thinking how hard is must be to keep treading water and fighting like that at the same time.
and the high bars that is the rule. there is no wrong on that. the rule the execution beats the difficulty, i think the rule is silly but there can't be bias in that.

Bella Karolli's gonna single-handedly bring down China over the gymnastics. @grimmjow: It's AmeriKKKa AmeriK(u)K(lux)K(lan) because racism is still government supported and everywhere because some backwards hicks still think that.

they showed a clip of bela karolyi watching a girl do her gymnast routine. he's a really. really. enthusiastic guy. lol
And water polo looks like a hard sport because of the constant treading of water. You can burn up to 10 pounds in one match...or so the magazine on my airplane said.

I can't believe how they broke that tie between Kexin and Liukin. I think the US got seriously screwed over this time around. Kexin had many visible errors in her routine and her landing was terrible. Liukin really proved how great she was on the bars yesterday. But the Aussie judge made a terrible decision.
Oh well, at least we know that Liukin deserved the gold.

Heh, I'm guilty of being slightly addicted at the moment. Unfortunately, it's on TV late into the night so I can't watch it all. And the events I like are on when I can't see them.....

Men Indoor Volleyball was so close, I didn't think that they were going to be able to pull through. I was so happy that they won; they did a really good job against Serbia.
Can't wait for the Beach Volleyball though.

I can't wait for the women's beach volleyball final tonight! It's in like 15 minutes. And the platform diving earlier tonight was amazing. I have the same bathing suit as the one who came in ninth (the American whose name escapes me now DX). I didn't really understand how much the qualifying scores mattered in the finals though.

Wow. How unbelievable is it that Shawn Johnson won three straight silvers and still had the composure to win gold on the beam? She had the gold snatched away from her on floor when it was looking like a sure thing, and coming into the Olympics she was the favorite for the all-around, but Nastia won it instead... Looking at the interviews right after the event, though, Shawn was so gracious toward and supportive of her teammate that it floored me. Whenever she would talk to reporters she came across as really genuine, and especially mature for just sixteen. I couldn't stop smiling when she won the gold - what a deserving young lady, and what a terrific Olympian.
