Reading Wicked nearly brought me to tears; that book was so awesome... The Midnighters trilogy really got me too. The ending was just so unfair.

It's this prequel story to The Wizard of Oz which explains the past of Gulinda and the Wicked Witch, how they became friends and how eventually they ended up becoming who they were in the movie. I totally recommend it.

"To Kill a Mockingbird" always chokes me up. Always. Not sure why, but that last paragraph just gets me - Atticus Finch is probably the best father in all literature. Also "Lord of the Rings" - not just the ending of the main tale, but also the Appendices. If you read "The Tale of Aragorn and Arwen" you'll know why!

"The Five People You Meet In Heaven" was very touching, and made me sad.. in a good way.

^ The Joy Luck Club? It had some touching moments but I didn't really think any SAD moments.
I admit to crying at The 10th Kingdom, which is kinda silly because that book is so packed full of awesomeness and comedy. Its like..bursting at the seams from fantastic.
Radiant- Midnighters by Scott Westerfeld?

There is a book called Moloka'i (I think it is spelled like so). I was crying on every single page, even after I'd stop reading it, I would still cry every now and then, just by remembering how sad it was. And I'm not a cry-baby. I hardly ever cry over books, or movies, in fact, I was laughing when Romeo and Juliet killed themselves. But this story was different. It is about a girl growing up in a lepresy camp in Hawai'i. This women's life is so tragic, she practically has everything taken from her. The book is written is a very simple, and very true. If you take all the sad parts from Harry Potter and multiply that by a billion, you might have about the sadness that is in this book So, if your ever too hyper and happy, I would suggest reading Moloka'i. Exept if your not ok with sexual content.
Since I can't double post- Radiant: Totally agree, the ending of Blue Noon was SO sad. If there isn't a next book, my friend and I are going to Australia and making Scott Westerfeld write one.
oh, and My Sister's Keeper was pretty sad too. The end was kinda, ironic, is a sad sence

Happy ending? Frodo died! Wait a minuet there! Frodo died in the book?! You've got to be kidding me! SPOILER
I don't think that happened to Frodo. Just because he leaves to another place doesn't mean he died. He probably just went to an elvish sancturary in another land. My saddest book was Harry Potter. It's just so unfair that everything bad happens to Harry and not the Slytherins!

~WARNING~WARNING~WARNING~WARNING~WARNING~WARNING~ I am a (*~SpOiLeR~*) King I wish i could remember the title, but a picture book(iknow) that was about the Star system in the Holocaust. The title had the word star in it but i can't remember it. My teacher read it to the class in 1st grade and like everyone was crying by the end. Stargirl, at the end, really was said (*~SpOiLeR~*) when she just left, and the boy that she liked didn't do anything. It was so sad. Saffy's angel was really sad when she found out (*~SpOiLeR~*) she was adopted. The City of Ember had some sad parts, like when (*~SpOiLeR~*) her grandma died, and when she called Lina into the room and had her sit there for one last moment, it was so sad. Indigos star wasn't as sad as it was touching. And The Rise of the Black Wolf, that was really sad when (*~SpOiLeR~*) Max's dad turned out to be with Morgan, it was just like...a...a...a kick in the pants! lol

"The Golden Compass" (At least that's what I think it's called) I really didn't want to read a love story about a deranged girl and a polar bear. Made me sad it was so horrible. ><
Also, "The Messanger" and "Gathering Blue"(sequals of "The Giver") made me sad.
