Inheritance is stupid, it's as if the author has no imagination at ALL. Or writing ability. YESH TO THAT. I'm adding another classic, The Old Man and The Sea. The beginning wasn't all that bad but after the guy hooked the marlin, it all went downhill from there.....

The beginning wasn't all that bad but after the guy hooked the marlin, it all went downhill from there..... I loved that. I mean, for one thing, it's not a mile wide like some novels, and I felt bad for the guy. I mean, he's poor as dirt, and hits it big. Then the marlin won't stop fighting with him, and he's trying to get it in. And then the sharks. And, maybe 200 pages later, he has a skeleton, and no money. I liked it, I don't hate too many classics actually, but I hate the book "Tangerine"

Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde
It made absolutly no sense. I had to read it or else I'd fail. The story line wasn't very well planned out. It confused the you know what out of me. My english teacher gave lengthy conversations about it for like a whole class peroid a few days. It was in little print and half the words made no sense.

The Sun Also Rises
Hemingway is an important writer and he can draw such pictures with words that I love his writing style. However this book did nothing for me. It's not the storyline is so horribe, it's that the characters are. It's always nice to be able to relate to at least one character when reading a book, but in this one I couldn't. They all annoyed me so much, especially Lady Brett Ashley.

Even though I haven't read it...
His Dark Materials series.
It's anti-Narnia, it's about killing God, and I think it's nothing more than a stupid, Christian-insulting, piece of unholy trash that shouldn't be read by anyone.
And if I was forced to read it for English class, I'd refuse. I'd rather fail than to read something that's totally against my religion.

^ Oh, wait till Kaneda comes on here..... Whew..... > And you haven't even read it. How would you know if it's as bad as you think? Yeah, I really don't like the books either but at least I tried reading them.

WUTHERING HEIGHTS! - Emily Bronte
I am never usually critical of classics but I will never understand how it EVER was popular. Catherine and Heathcliff's love story was so realistic that it was unrealistic. The characters are almost all either pathetic, melodramatic, overly hateful, stupid, or incredibly annoying.

Twilight and The Pearl.
I only could read 150 or so pages of Twilight. I thought it was so boring and just dragged on about Bella being curious about Edward. Nothing happened in all that I read.
For The Pearl, I had to read it for school. I don't think I read much of it - just skimmed for answers to questions - but it was torturous. So boring and so bad.

We're reading A Separate Peace by John Knowles. I've only read like 5 pages and I already hate it. Everyone at school says that it was the worst classic they've read.
Thank God this is our last read for the year. I can't take any more classics......

My last year English teacher (this year's too, come to think of it) didn't understand the concept of spoilers, or just didn't understand that our young minds were capable of individual thought. =___= She made us read a poem called something like "Of An Athlete Dying Young" before we read A Separate Peace. Hmmmm, I wonder who that could be. DX That book was one of the worse books we read freshman year. Gene bothered the s*** out of me. He was a complete psycho.

I hated The Scarlet Letter. After the first few chapters, I was about ready to stab myself in the eye. It got better toward the end, but I wasn't a fan of the book as a whole. I couldn't understand what any of the characters were saying, which got really annoying really quickly.
