Okay, I just checked some sites about the show. Absolute Anime says Hagi is the Japanese name and Haji is the English name. Adultswim.com spells it Haji. Anime News Network lists it as Haji in the Japanese cast and Hagi in the English cast (so that's weird, the opposite of Absolute Anime). IMDb says Haji in English and Hagi in Japanese. Wikipedia has this note in its profile of the character:

All I'm saying is that they spell it H-A-G-I in the credits and gives the English language version voice actor's name, and therefore, everyone who says it's H-A-J-I is technically, technically wrong.
In other Blood+ news... What was up with Amshel's look, eh? I didn't think having a half chiropteran, half human look like that was possible.
Also, I, myself, am glad that the babies weren't killed. They were so cute. I could be wrong, but I think the lady who did Saya's friend at that girls' school nearer the beginning of the series (her name escapes me) also did Lulu and one of the girls in the very last moments of the show when Kai was taking them to Saya's resting place (I won't say grave cause she's not dead, just gone to sleep for 30 years.)
And way to go David! Not only did he survive, but he also got his woman and they had a kid together. All these babies showing up at the end of the series makes me wonder who would be next if the series were to continue from there. Lewis? Kai? Mao? Nah, probably not Kai. He's raising Diva's little girls.

Well, I looked at the end credits and his name was spelled Hagi there, as you say. So that's official as far as the English dub is concerned, but with a language like Japanese, which is often written several different ways in Romaji, considering the proper spelling would have to be in one (or all) of the three different alphabets they have before transliterating it into Romaji, it doesn't seem like a big deal if people choose to spell it different, especially if various official sources spell it differently. Anyway, good finale, and yep, yet another voice role for Lara Jill Miller (Min, Lulu, Javier, and now one of Diva's daughters). Well, I think it'd be interesting to see a sequel someday (Blood: The Next Generation?). When the girls are all grown up, their aunt will awake. And Julia's kid will be grown, as well (I was spoiled somewhere long ago, probably Wikipedia, that at the end of the series she'd be pregnant, and at the time I said to myself, I wouldn't be surprised if it was Lewis's baby, since he was always complimenting her and David was always ignoring her. But I wasn't that serious about it then, and certainly now David seems most likely the father.) I thought it was a bit weird that Kai said (I think) that the girls should start calling him "Dad." I wasn't sure that's what he said, but that's what it sounded like. But he's their uncle... creepily enough, I think that works out no matter which parent you think of his relation to. I mean if he thought of Saya as a sister, then Diva would be... his sister once removed? I dunno, whatever. Also I wasn't sure who left that rose. I assume it was Haji, because as we've seen so many times, that guy just won't die. (I loved finally seeing Haji and Saya kiss, and I want them to be together forever.) Then again I wondered if it might be Solomon (I don't remember whether he ever actually died or not.) In any event, I made the rose the new default pic in my gallery, along with some other nice caps from the finale. (It'll be nice to have one less show to be screencapping for awhile.) Oh, it was also nice to see Kaori again. And... I'm probably forgetting things....

@tekno: The rose was from Haji (best spelling ever!) Here it is: It has a blue ribbon tied to it. And here's Haji with the same ribbon on his ponytail (holding another rose coincidentally): Also (at least in the subs) Kai says something like 'he did come', which seems to be a direct reference to his telling Saya that Haji would come back for her earlier in the episode. And I think Kai was trying to get them to call him dad because he called George (?) 'dad' and that worked pretty well for their family dynamic. Saya's going to be gone until the girls are 30 and there isn't anyone else, so why not? At least that's the way I read it. He wants to follow in George's footsteps. Anyway, as I said in the 'saddest moment in anime' thread, I practically sobbed when Kai was carrying Saya on his back up the steps to her 'resting place'. Tears were just running down his face and he was talking to her and she was already pretty much gone. I'd like to see a sequel too, but I wish they had chosen 10 years sleep instead of 30. That's a bit long and I couldn't blame her for wanting to end it all, when everyone she might actually know and recognize and love ages 30 years every time she wakes up. They'll be dead soon (in her timeline) and how painful will that be? EDIT/ADD: Oh! Amshel's return was so freakish! He had pulled himself off the spire and pulled half his mid-section away. Grosssssssss!!!! And Solomon did die, I'm pretty sure. His body did that turning to stone thing at the end and that seems to be the indicator that a chiropteran has died.

The first time I saw the ending, I seriously thought Hagi (pwnage) died...which was like super foolish of me. ^_^ So that ending with the rose was the best...really turned my tears of sadness into happiness. Hagi is so awesome that I named my cello after him. <3 And I need to name something after Diva...she was my second favorite character...she will be missed. *salutes* BTW: OMFG THE BABIES WERE SO CUTE!!!! WAHHHH!!

Oh my, I nearly start crying when Hagi said, "I'll always love you" to Saya then he got "crushed". I knew he wouldn't die, but Saya was crying and screaming "HAGIII!!!" and I was like WAHH!!! Yeah, Amshel was pretty gross, but I had the feeling he was still alive. But what about NATHAN! At the end, he was the reporter guy! It looked AND sounded like him! HOW CAN HE BE ALIVE?! 0_o
But all in all, a good finale.

The show hints at him being Diva and Saya's mother's chevalier, but I don't remember if it was actually stated or not. *hasn't watched the show in forever. D:*

I'm failry certain that the rose at Saya's resting place was from Hagi. I mean, as it's already been pointed out, there was a ribbon around it, and it appeared to be the same one he wore all throughout the series.
And tek, Kai did tell the girls that it was about time they started calling him "Dad."
Also, I can justify that the father of Julia's baby was David because, as it has been pointed out, Lewis was always complimenting her and David was ignoring her, but you will notice that he did start paying attention to her near the end of the series and that they likely had plenty to do with each other in the time between when they all (Save Hagi, Amshel, Nathan, and Diva, of course) escaped the theatre. Who else could have sired Julia's child?
I can honestly say (I purposely left this out of my last post) that whenever an anime series I loved ends, I'm usually pretty bummed. I mean, I was kinda down when the whole Dragonball shebang ended, but I was downright depressed when Full Metal Alchemist ended. I'm usually pretty bummed when an anime I loved ends, but not so with Blood+. I mean, regardless of the ending, no matter how much closure it provides and how many possibility doors it opens for what I like to call 'aftermath fanfics', I just don't want to see it end. I didn't want to see Blood+ end, yet for some reason, I wasn't brought down by the ending.

i was pretty sure the rose must've been a reference to something from a previous episode, but I have a terrible memory and couldn't think of anything but the Phantom's blue roses.
I so meant to mention how weird it was for Nathan to show up as a reporter, I can't believe I forgot. If there were ever a sequel, I wonder if he'd be involved. He clearly wanted everyont to think he was dead, so maybe he'll just move on with his life and leave everyone alone, though I'm not sure he'd really want to never see Diva's children...
I'm probably still forgetting things to say.

The rose obviously was from Haji. The pink rose symbolized Saya, as the blue rose symbolized Diva. It has been hinted at the majority of the show, and really is quite obvious. Not to mention his ribbon was tied to it.
But then again...I've re-watched this show a few times...

What does that have to do with Nathan still being alive after being run through with Saya's blood-covered sword? *feels stupid* :-[

^Yeah, that confused me a bit. She cut him in half last episode, right? We never saw him turn into stone, though, so maybe he's still alive. And doesn't just have a look-alike.I thought Haji getting crushed was sad. I too had been spoiled about him still being alive (thanks, Wikipedia ), but it didn't make it any less sad. BTW- Did anyone else see a Phantom of the Opera (movie, not play) connection with the rose and the ribbon? At the end of the movie, they show a rose with a ribbon and a ring ties to it, laid at Christine's headstone. It really reminded me a lot of this. Of course, there was Karl's whole "Phantom" thing, too...@nerull- I can't think of who else could have been the father, after the phone call where Julia was telling David to make sure he came back. Anyway. I was so freaked out that Amshel came back! That piece missing out of him was really disturbing. (Of course, Hagi's arm missing was a bit gross, too. Can chevaliers regrow limbs?)

^Oh, right! That makes sense.
...So unless his queen's sister is still alive, he'll be alive forever? That kind of sucks.
Oh, wait, no. They could still burn him up or cut off his head.

Was it a trufax that they could be killed by being burned up or having their heads cut off? I thought that was just speculation on Solomon's part. But it's been a while. I wondered how Haji could have survived 'Option D' being stuck in the theater. Although it would have felt like something was missing if Haji hadn't gotten skewered by somebody in the final episode. So it was good that Amshel came back to do that.
