Idk about energy bending either, I thought it was sort of a power only the avatar could harness, I don't see it as being something any dude (not that Amon is just any dude, but still) can use casually to harm people. Maybe it's some combination of taser/Dai Li style brain washing thing. @muso: I missed the shipteasing at first too, but just pause the vid @0:21, it's only there for a split second, but Makko and Korra kiss. & that's weird, cuz when I looked at my TV's schedule for the 9th, they had some other show scheduled for 2 and onwards O.o. Maybe it's wrong and they haven't fixed it yet.

Wait, when they say a whole week...does that mean the whole week is gonna be a giant avatar marathon with new Korra/ATLA stuff? or is it all on April 9?

Ohh, okay. Well in that case, I agree, I'd love it if they did something like that, and I'm sure it would be worth it for them as an investment considering how many people would want to see it. *fingers crossed*.

Oh, wow! I certainly hope we get to see them and (if they have any) families later on, but I'm sure we'll get to know something about them considering how much of a gap there is between ATLA and Korra right now (ie, we still don't know about Zuko's mom and stuff, so I'm sure something about the gaang's adult lives will be revealed at some point). Doesn't Kya look a lot like Kida from Atlantis? I wonder how she got white hair like a certain northern water tribe princess's O.o. Bumi looks like King Bumi. I'm hoping their lack of husbands/wives/kids just means that those people won't be in the series and not that they just don't have families though . That would be a little disappointing for me.

I'm fairly certain it'll be answered in Korra, seeing as ATLA ended with Zuko asking where his mom was and The Promise picked up right there and then completely ran off to what happened a year later, seemingly sidestepping the issue. @muso: What's an OVA? I think I'd have to take a couple days off of work/school to recover if there was a flashback episode lol. Just hearing that Aang, Sokka, etc...were dead in this episode took me a couple days to get over .

Yeah, I get what you mean about the fanfic thing, especially with the Promise comics. Several fanfiction writers had written about the next conflict being over the Fire Nation colonies before any news about the comics had even been released, so who knows, maybe Bryke actually reads fanfics O.o. Then again, it doesn't take too much creativity on anyone's part to imagine that Aang and Katara would name their kids after lost loved ones. *and while I don't mind the cars and radio seeing as they did have airships and giant mechanical drills in ATLA, I am sorta glad they don't have guns. It just doesn't fit right :/.

Does that have to be in spoiler bars? It was on the Nick season preview, which was aired publicly for everyone to see this weekend. But anyways, considering that other scene in the preview, I think it's pretty safe to say there will be something between Mako and Korra. And yeah, I don't think we've seen enough of him yet to judge him as just completely dull and grumpy. I think he'll be interesting. Zuko was one of my fav characters in the original, so I'm excited for Mako's development.

I'm assuming the guys in the robes were like the people (Teo & his dad+others) who lived at the Northern Air Temple, or maybe people like the Guru, who are spiritually enlightened but can't airbend. I too hope very much to see Kya and Bumi at some point. I'm sure we will. Also, I'm sure this has already been addressed sometime within the past year, but I don't remember what the answer was. Since Korra was originally just supposed to be a mini-series, is that all it is still? Or did Nick agree to do more so it can be a full series like the original?

Well, the pro benders aren't fighting because they have to for their lives. If they were battling each other for real, they may very well continue after they got knocked off the back and find a way to retaliate, but they don't because once you're off you're out for the round so we don't really get to see how much energy they have left after that. That's what I'm thinking anyways. I love Tenzin's fam lol. Meelo is adorable. Also, does anyone think there's a chance they'll air both the first episodes together on the 14th like they did online? Or do you think we'll have to wait till April 28th for the third?

Lol, I kinda see it too but I sorta hope he doesn't develop any interest in her (like that'll happen) just so I don't have to see him get heartbroken . I can already tell he's gonna be one of my favs and I'd hate to see him sad. Now it just sucks that we have to wait a whole month+4 days for epi 3 T_T

Yeah, I think the technology is the hardest part for me to adjust to as well. I just found the old 1800s Asia thing so charming, I always have. On the other hand, I'm sure the entire world isn't that way. I'm not sure if Bryke ever confirmed anything about the series leaving Republic City at any point, but if Korra explores a little like Aang does, there are probably lots of villages/areas that look like the old Avatar-land. The South Pole didn't look too urban anyhow. Then again, considering that the Fire Nation had airships and giant mechanical drills and whatnot in the original series, I'm not sure why the technology in Republic City feels so foreign to me O.o.

I thought Meelo was adorable lol. And Tenzin reminded me a little bit of Mufasa from Lion King ("You deliberately disobeyed me!"), but I love him. I'm thinking the romance will definitely be between Korra and Mako, considering how the episode ended. And as much as I love Kataang, I'm thinking this would (assuming that there is something between Korra and Mako in the first place) be more of a Zutara-esque romance, since Mako is definitely more of a Zuko than an Aang (whereas Bolin reminded me a lot of Aang). I know it's too soon to assume any of that, but it's still so much fun to speculate about shipping I'm also really loving the music!

@musogato: Yeah, I think it is new. Not sure if it's cuz of the leak, but I wouldn't be surprised. I would think if the trailer plays the whole thing will play on Sat...but if not I'm sure someone will try to spread it to the rest of the net.

^^They probably left us hanging there on purpose . But I'm sure we'll get answers eventually. Also, does anyone else think that Katara's time in the series may be short seeing as Mike and Bryan did say all the original characters were gonna be dead? I think her little speech to Korra about passing responsibility on to the next generation may have been foreshadowing something =/.
