Dude, she was like, five or six when her bending abilities came to be. Sure it'd be nice if she and her father went a little road trip together at an early age, (you know like a father-daughter bonding) but it'd be disappointing if they went all over only to find nothing (considering that the descendants of both tribes had no idea the other existed, so, they wouldn't really know either way). :P That and it'd be pretty risky to travel around with a young child during war time. Why are you talking about then? ???

Well, even after Hakoda left, they still didn't know anything about the Foggy Water Tribe.
and remember that in the first episode, at the first mention of going to the North Pole to find a waterbending teacher, Katara was reluctant to leaving home at first.
Plus, by the time the Gaang came across the Foggy Water Tribe, she already "mastered" waterbending, so there was no need. :P

Yeah, but the main, MAIN point of the matter is that Katara was too d@mn powerful in such a short amount of time with minimal training. :P(None of which coming from the enigmous Foggy Swamp Benders who were totally unknown until the middle of Book Earth)
That, and Sokka isn't a sword master.
Dude, you made me say all that just to prove that the Foggy Swamp Tribers were in the same hemisphere?

And as I said, Katara is that powerful just because she is a natural at waterbending, just like Toph and Aang (as I said the last time I said this, Aang is the youngest airbender to become an airbending master) You dragged it out, I just followed you

Oh well. Guess it's just something that we won't agree on I suppose.

In the episode The Western Air Temple, Katara was a bit harsh to Zuko at the end. I think shes the one who needs a attitude adjustment. And she should be happy that ATLEAST Aang has a Firebending teacher.

Half of the people here think that her display of waterbending got to strong in the season premiere. Half the people think it's cool.

Considering everything that the Gaang has been through with Zuko, Katara's feelings in The Firebending Masters were perfectly natural. After somebody had been hunting you for months and sending assasins after you, would you be able to trust them immediately? It's pretty unrealistic to think that Katara would feel otherwise, especially since she probably feels personally responsible for what happened with Zuko in CoD. Katara's attitude towards Zuko will change once she sees that he's truly on their side (i.e. after The Boiling Rock).
As far as Katara's power level goes, she needs to be that powerful. Aang needs allies who are capable of taking down the Fire Nation's best, which is why fate (a.k.a. the writers) arranged to have supremely powerful benders and fighters as his friends. The very first episode of Avatar made it clear that although untrained, Katara had tremendous raw power and potential as a waterbender. Perhaps it would have seemed a bit more realistic to have her start out as at an average level of skill and progress to a high level of skill in a season, rather than going from knowing almost nothing to mastery in such a short time. However, it's just one of those things you have to accept for the sake of the story. Katara is a prodigy, and her progression fits along with one of the central motifs of the show in that hard work, determination, and passion are more important than raw talent. Waterbending is Katara's true passion -- something that she'd been eagerly awaiting the chance to do her whole life. Aang learned waterbending just because it's his duty as the avatar. Katara was more dedicated to waterbending than Aang, so she worked harder and progressed much faster. Many people object to Katara's rapid progression, but it truly makes sense in the greater context of the story.
It's also worth pointing out once again that the term "Master" is a very relative judgment. Having someone call you "master" is a recognition of a high level of skill, but not necessarily the ultimate level of skill. Just because you've attained mastery does not mean you've learned everything there is to know about whatever you're doing. Though Pakku called Katara a "master," she continued to learn throughout season 2 and 3. A true master is always learning and growing. Even a fully realized Avatar can learn more or invent new forms and techniques of bending. As we saw with Toph, a creative bender can take bending in directions it's never gone before!
