You wouldn't belive all the talks about Avatar, but they never get it, they really don't mind me watching it so thr're okay with it, I just wish they would get into it like I am. But then again I am kind of really badly goodlt obsessed with it. They'll never catch up. But I do like the show wiehter my parents do or not. like anime shows, LOL

They probably don't know anything about it. I've never really bothered having them watch the show when its on. Now that I have both complete DVD box-sets of Books One and Two, I might consider it.... maybe.

My mom didn't care that I watched it, she seen me watch Yu Yu Hakasho and Outlaw Star(Best EVA) and other animes so she doesn't care what I watch (Lawl if only she knew I stood up late to watch Boondocks and Gargoyles)
Now that I live with my fiance I don't have parents to govern watch I watch. So I seriously watch whatever (mostly it's Outlaw Star and occsional documentry on Nat Geo, planning to steal Samurai X later) My fiance didn't like Avatar first but then he gave it a chance and he's a Avatard too. It's cool cause we both cuddle with Appa and "Bend" when we get bored. My sister use to like Avatar but she lost interest.. D: I think It's my fault because she has no one to watch it with.. <<
As for the -_- faces for the fact that parents dislike it for the pagan content. I lol, well duh, it is pagan more so than Harry Potter, it has real world Hindu philiosphy and religious background. Then again I loved it for that reason. Hey I am studing hermetic magic and I'm learning about Qi Gong. So << I'm pretty much a dirty heathen. (YAY)
*is going to hell in a giant indigo handbasket with lots of gay smut* =D
BC would like to remind Fourm that this is mainly satircal and humorous not ment to be offensive

Wow, I can't imagine anyone's parents having a problem with Avatar. It's definitely one of the most tame shows on tv. Personally, I'd find it sad if a parent gets to a point where they're banning their kids from watching Avatar because it's inappropriate.

I voted that "they're" Ok with it.
The word "they're" is in quotes because I am a parent and I am totally fine with Avatar as a show for my children to watch. There isn't any blood or overtly violent scenes... then again I have no issue with my kids (whom are 6 years old) watching Naruto or Bleach which are both of the above.

My parents were okay with it from the start. They just figured it was another anime show. At least one of them is hooked while the other is only in to make predictions and see if they come true.

My parents are rather annoyed by my love of anime. I'm allowed to watch Avatar after I've done my homework, and to them it's one of my cartoons. Sigh

My mom and her boyfriend have seen up to 3.07, and they seem to be quite fond of it by now. He even got the first two DVDs of S3 for me. =3
And he's also given Zuko the nickname of Sunburn. xDDD

Well, the first time I was watching avatar, they were talking about reincarnation and in my religious beliefs, we believe in reincarnation as well. And if you remember the episode with the "The guru" and the chakras, we also believe in that. Also, we meditate at my house to reach enlightenment.

Karma for you. That's rather interesting... and even pretty neat to know that Avatar has gotten the seal of approval from your parents for a reason no one else here had. Thanks for sharing that with us.

Wow, I so know the feeling of 'being sheltered with strict parents thing'. I really got into Avatar and I started trying making fanvids. Mom and I share the computer & she saw a couple of the clips I had of the opening sequence and got kind of upset. We are both Christians but mom is REALLY religious. She thought it was 'of the devil' & weird stuff like that. I explained it to her and now she's sort of ok with it. And I'm certainly glad because Avatar is definitely the best cartoon show & you're never really too old for cartoons! ^.^ I just do the same thing you do and go off by myself and listen carefully for approaching footsteps!

My dad watches Avatar about as much as I do. My mom's pretty whatever about it. She watches it sometimes though.
And, I'm a very religious Christian, too.

Its a Nickelodean show for crying out loud. My doesn't know what Avatar even is, and my dad doesn't watch anything even related to anime, but my mom and dad let me watch it. I'm 13. I think I can handle it.
