I think the only question I have is why bring up the whole bit about Iroh and the spirit world? For it to have been mentioned like 4 or 5 times in the series, that wasn't elaborated on how he could do it or why, but other than that, for me every question that needed to be answered was answered adeqately.

The biggest most threating question was left unanswered: Will the cycle be saved if Aang and Katara have children or is the avatar-less world doomed to fall back into chaos with no one around to clean up?

Oh right, thanks Nomad. But yeah, I have yet to think of a bigger gap in the show's plot then this unanswered question.

well...again remember its a nick show...they could probably pull off a 'harry potter' and assume all the teenage relationships end in marriage with kids. If they do show a future type thing there will probably be a kid airbender...and aang would be like - I have to rebuild my people.
Plus they wouldn't even attempt to explain incest...so I don't think it will be answered anyways.
oh wait...there is an incest-less way. we all assume aang + katara = airbender maybe....so any other half airbender could work out...no incest involved.

The thing about Azula conversation with her mother, it was all in her head. Azula was breaking down and through her descent into madness her imagination created that mental image of her mother.
There are many unanswered questions but the big questions were dealt with. Personally I think that there is no way to top Sozen's Comet but if they do I'm all for it. Maybe an adventure into the Spirit World? Finding Zuko Mother / retracing Iroh steps would be a great lead in for Zuko to enter and Aang going to deal with a crisis in the Spirit world. He is the gap between the two worlds.

The "Harry Potter" epilogue was the one reason why I felt it should be cut off. Everything else was fine and great in the final book until that epilogue. J.K.'s writing just became completely different. As for "future type" of thing, I'm actually kind of tired seeing that in a lot of stories and shows. Tsubasa: RC is probably the closest I can be at of being lenient with it buuuut, having a kid just doing a similar kind of adventure his/her parents did.. It just isn't the same as the original. Buuut, if Avatar ends up that way.. Eh, I'll probably grow to like it.

^Yeah, that's what I'm going with if the creators decided not to explain it. I'll assume the airbender gene is passed down even if Aang and katara mix it up. Their child's offspring would end up being the avatar

Only way to know about this, create a 13 episode special for it, besides it would be titled "After the War" special if that were to ahppen, but of course that is only a 10% of even that happening.

^ Yep. Future relationships are actually better to be left open in some cases. ^_^ Unfortunately, not everyone gets it so that's why, I keep seeing some story franchises being milked this way.

^Yeah, with no Avatar to maintain the balance. We're left with another Gotham City. (sorry, I just saw the movie)

Another thing that bothered me. Aand bumping into a rock triggered his Avatar State? After all that bull mess Guru Pathik taught him, all it took was a little bump?

Well apparently they did that so there would be record viewership, but once again Nick has been unfair to this series in delays of this series, but lets say the economy screwed up viacom and well having to release the new episodes earlier, but I guess that why the new saga will canned instead , thus leaving the movies to be the finishing touch.
