I have a theory where this is going. Mike and Bryan’s Nick masters are going to greenlight the sequel series and continue this series in novels.
I envision a trilogy answering some unanswered questions and setting up the rest of the novels however many that may be. I envision said trilogy being written by the following novelists, James Swallow, Greg Cox, and Michael A Martin and Andy Mangels. But that's just me.
Here are the bios from their respective novels to give you an idea of their credentials
James Swallow is proud to be the only British writer to have worked on a Star Trek series, creating the original story concepts for the Star Trek: Voyager episodes “One” and “Memorial.” His other associations with the Star Trek saga include the short stories “Closure,” “Ordinary Days,” and “The Black Flag” for the anthologies Distant Shores, The Sky’s the Limit, and Shards and Shadows, the script for the video game Star Trek: Invasion, and over four hundred articles in thirteen Star Trek magazines around the world.
Beyond the Final Frontier, as well as a nonfiction book (Dark Eye: The Films of David Fincher), James also wrote the Sundowner series of steampunk westerns, Jade Dragon, the Butterfly Effect, and fiction in the worlds of Doctor Who (Peacemaker, Singularity, and Old Soldiers), Warhammer 40, 000 (The Flight of the Esenstein, Faith and Fire, Deus Encamerine, and Deus Sanguinius), Stargate (Halcyon and Relativity), and 2000AD (Eclipse, Whiteout, and Blood Relative). His other credits include scripts for video games and audio dramas, including Battlestar Galactica, Blake’s 7, and Space 1889
James Swallow currently lives in London and is currently at work on his next novel
Greg Cox is the New York Times bestselling author of numerous Star Trek books and short stories, including To Reign in Hell, The Eugenics Wars, The Q Continuum, the Black Shore, and Assignment: Eternity. His short fiction can be found in Star Trek: The Amazing Stories, Enterprise Logs, and Tales of the Dominion War
In addition, he has written books and stories based on such popular series as Alias, Batman, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Daredevil, Farscape, Fantastic Four, Infinite Crisis, Iron Man, Roswell, Underworld, Xena, and X-Men
He lives in Oxford, Pennsylvania
Michael A Martin’s solo short fiction has appeared in The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction. He has also co-authored (with Andy Mangels), several Star Trek comics for Marvel and Wildstorm and numerous Star Trek novels and eBooks including Enterprise: The Good that Men Do; the USA Today bestseller Titan: Taking Wing; Titan: The Red King; Sy Fy Genre Award winning Worlds of Deep Space Nine Volume Two: Trill-Unjoined; Enterprise: The Last Full Measure, The Lost Era 2298: The Sundered; Deep Space Nine Mission: Gamma Book Three-Cathedral; The Next Generation #30 and #31 (“Ishtar Rising” Books 1 and 2, reprinted in Aftermath, the eight volume of the S.C.E paperback series) stories in the Prophecy and Change, Tales of the Dominion War, and Tales from the Captain’s Table anthologies, and three novels based on the Roswell television series.
His work has also been published by Atlas Editions (in their Star Trek Universe subscription card series), Star Trek Monthly, Grolier Books, Visible Ink Press, The Oregonian, and Gareth Stevens, Inc., for whom he has penned several World Almanac Library of the States nonfiction books for young readers. He lives with his wife, Jenny, and their sons James and William in Portland, Oregon.
Andy Mangels is the USA Today bestselling author and co-author of over a dozen novels, including Star Trek and Roswell books-all co-written with Michael A. Martin. Flying solo, he is the bestselling author of several nonfiction books, including Star Wars: The Essential Guide to Characters and Animation on DVD: The Ultimate Guide, as well as a significant number of entries for The Superhero Book: The Ultimate Encyclopedia of Comic-Book Icons and Hollywood Heroes as well as for its companion volume, The Supervillain Book: The Evil Side of Comics and Hollywood.
In addition to cowriting more upcoming novels and contributing to anthologies, Andy has produced, directed, and scripted a series of over thirty half-hour DVD documentaries-and provided other special features for BCI Eclipses Ink & Paint, for inclusion in DVD box ranging from animated fare such as He-Man, She-Ra, Flash Gordon, and Ghostbusters to live-action favorites such as Ark II, Space Academy, and Isis.
So, what do you think of the idea, and who would you hae write it?
I also think they should novelize the one and two hour episodes for older audiences
Here's how I would start out the novelizations. I also include the names of the authors I want to see write them.
The Boy in the Iceberg(which includes the Avatar Returns) by James Swallow
Winter Solstice by S.D. Perry and Britta Burdett Dennison
The Siege of the North by Greg Cox
Journey to Ba Sing Se by Dayton Ward And Kevin Dilmore
Day of Black Sun by Keith R.A. Decandido
The Boiling Rock by Keith R.A. Decandido
Sozin's Comet by Michael A. Martin and Andy Mangels
I'd also have Mangels and Martin start out any post Sozin's Comet novels.
