Everyone has the capacity for great good and great evil in them. That was the lesson Aang learned in "The Avatar and the Firelord.". I think that its possible for Azula to be redeemed but extremely unlikely. People dont change unless theyre uncomfortable with themselves. The mirror breaking scene is the one of the few indications in the whole series that Azula is uncomfortable with who she is. Sadly, I dont see here going beyond that baby step.

I don't really see her uncomfortable with who she is though... But if you are right there might be a sappy, unrealisticly happy ending for Azula... a very slim chance of it though

I've been saying this, I think she will "turn good". And I don't like that idea.

Yes; she can, and she will be. I have no doubt she will redeemed. I will not be making any long posts over it, though, because I don't feel like it. Every time I do, I just end up in a bad and angry mood.

^I compleatley disagree with your veiw. I think now its more obvious than ever that she wont be redeemed with all the new commercials. 'I will destroy all those who stand in my way'.
Azula would rather die than give up on her quest for world domination. To be redeemed you have to want to be redeemed and work hard for it, we've already seen that with Zuko and it took him 2 and a half seasons to do the right thing. Would we really want one of the best villains ever created to turn all goody 2 shoes in the last 6 episodes? don't make me sick.
(I need Firelord Azula back here)

If they redeem Azula in the last 6 eppies after it took Zuko 2 and a half seasons to do it, I will be more than a bit ticked off. But judging by something M&B said, it won't happen in this series. She started the series as bad and she'll end it that way. And I have said before, this was about Zuko's redemption. M&B said ZUKO had the farthest path to go to get where he is. Not Azula, not anyone else. This story of redemption was Zuko's, it would lesson the effects of what he did, what he went through to have Azula redeemed in such a short time. Besides, she likes being evil, it's what she lives for.

^^Oh, don't bother asking for that. DH has already debated this beyond beaten dead horse status. The horse is a rotting pile of goo, and people still won't let it be. It's long past time for pro-redemptioners to admit that there is no actual reason for Azula to be redeemed. They just desperately WANT Azula to be redeemed because instinctively they all know that a villain of Azula's magnitude always ends up defeated/destroyed at the end of the story. Redemption would be a way to avoid that, since a lot of villains in many different stories do find redemption. However, nobody in any of these debates has come up with a single credible explanation for why or how Azula would be redeemed (hence the lack of explanation to back up the assertion that she'll be redeemed -- there really isn't one.) It doesn't fit within this story, and it's just plain wishful thinking. I don't mean to be a twig, but people need to accept that she's going to go down. No matter how much you like a character, you can't let yourself get too attached to them. Iroh is my favorite character, but I've anticipated all along that if any of the main characters were to die, he'd be at the top of the list. Wise old mentor-types have an uncanny habit of dying in epic stories like this. I obviously won't know till Saturday how it turns out, but I'm prepared to accept it if it happens. It's just a TV show; life goes on. The sooner ya'll accept that Azula's going down hard, the sooner the suffering will end... -- SpiritBender

I know, right? You sound like me! But I think that their thinking is that she is so well developed and has a fan base. I would also be Ok with her being exiled or imprisoned. I just don't want her to be let off the hook, or worse, be accepted as a feeling human being, lol. I've been saying this, I think she will "turn good". And I don't like that idea. Exactly. I think it will be so much more realistic to have a major char that is simply bad, which I believe she is. I know, right? You sound like me! I'm a huge Azula fan who wants her to go down. I love her character so much because she's an awesome villian and she deserves to go down for that.

I'm pretty sure that she won't be redeemed. Her character just in't that complex. Since it's a kids show, Azula is portrayed as purely insane and evil. But, ignoring that the show's target audience are 6 - 11 year old kids, I strongly disagree that she is purely evil. In my opinion, nobody can be purely bad. Just as nobody can be purely good. It's not possible. I think there has to be at least a shred of humanity inside her, no matter how small it may be. I agree that she can't be redeemed over night. But she could at least start to doubt herself. I think an open ending would be good....you know, hints that she may choose the right path now. But I would hate to see her being killed by Zuko (and not just because I hate that guy). To end like this would be so...unworthy of her. She has always been more skilled than him...she trained hard to be as good at firebending as she is. And now she gets her butt kicked?...not good. However, I could see her killing herself. Either because she has just gone completly insane or she has realized that the fight is over. But, well...it's a kids show. So she will be defeated by Zuko. She'll probably get a scar similiar to his and will be exiled. And everyone will live happily ever after. *sigh*
