I dunno if any of you guys have noticed, but I noticed that there aren't any rap or hip hop artist threads on the music board. So I made this poll. What do I think of rap music you ask? All I can say is that my heart is as cold as a thousand blistering winters in Antartica a thousand 100-year nuclear winters jammed on the dark side of Pluto when it comes to rap.

I love rap, but it has to be the right kind of rap. The majority of the stuff coming out these days is disposable junk. Kinda shows how far the genre has come, I suppose - now even rap has sucky, disposable, junk songs like every other genre. Uh... progress?

I barely listen to rap/Hip-hop songs. I'm more into the techno, acoustic, punk rock, latin and pop music now.

I prefer to call that type of musice Crap To me it is just talking on a beat mostly without any good melodies in it or rythm. From the beginng to the end it sounds all the same to me. I'm more in to metal, rock alternative pop and local bands.

i love rap can't get enough of it, even this stuff coming out right now while not having as much flow as back in the day, still gets you pumped up. and its stuff you can dance to. i can't dance to rock besides jumping up and down waving your hands in the air.

I'm a hip-hop head for life, and I definitely noticed that a majority of the songs people post they're listening to are primarily rock/punk/alternative/pop etc. This thread just shows it,only 5 replies.... Right now though,I'm feelin rock/alternative music like Linkin Park and MuteMath. Hip-Hop is still #1, but it needs to reinvent itself. Be original like it used to be.

Common, a Tribe called Quest, Wu Tang Clan all spit hot fire. this is a little old, but rap is one of the best forms of poetry. better than middle class white guys from the suburbs acting all tough saying how hard their life is aka alternative rock.

Aww, that's not fair. Some rap is truly great - really, you should check it out sometime. Just because you happen to not like a particular genre doesn't necessarily mean it isn't a valid artform. I mean, I don't like certain styles of books or movies, but it doesn't make them any less significant to someone else. There *is* a lot of junk rap out there, and it's tough to separate the wheat from the chaff, but the good stuff is really good, almost transcendent. I think that's true for most music - I mean, if you look at most country, alternative (whatever that means these days), pop, and rock songs it's really dire - only a few can really be qualified as truly good. But don't knock it 'til you try it.

Rap and pop both make me angry. Anything that doesn't include a comprehensive band and the focus is the lead singer (That is, everyone else is disposable) I probably won't listen to.

Lol. I'm not much of a big fan of alt rock either to tell thou the trutheth. If there was anything about rap that I liked, it's probably the beat. Other than that, the only rap music you can find me listening to is MC Chris and Eminem....And that's cuz the lyrics make me laugh for some reason (Oh I know! Cuz they're funny! Other than that, I loathe it.

Rap- Retards Attempting Poetry Haha! I have to agree! I do not like rap, I'm more of an 80's metal/rock music lover.
