^True. Nut they could've had SOME aspects be the same! *pokes Roran* What, Roran can't fall in love? That wsas a huge plot point in Eldest, so I hope they don't make another one!

Nah, Roran's subplot in Eldest was 100% filler

Now I'm laughing. And I feel really, really bad. I don't want to openly make fun of his writing, because some people have to enjoy it for his books to become so popular, but those examples...wooow. Those arent mutliple examples. That was all on the same page xD and it was on page 5 or so.

The Inheritance Trilogy has no sense of uniqueness, every character is hate-able and not remotely original, the magic is from Earthsea, the races and setting is from Tolkien, almost every part of the plot is from Star Wars, and the Dragon Riders are from Pern except in Pern the dragons and the Riders were equals. There is nothing unique about this book. It should have never been published, no honest publishing company would have published these books. Paolini is ***** next to Tolkien, it's an insult of disgusting proportions to compare Paolini to the father of modern fantasy! Just because Paolini had the integrity to actually write such lengthy books DOES NOT make him a prodigy! He just had a lot of patience and time on his hands. His ego is the size of the moon and just as crazy to actually fool himself into thinking he's original and an amazing writer. The stories I can stomach, the author I despise.

My favorite Paolini quote: "I strive for a lyrical beauty somewhere between Tolkien at his best and Seamus Heaney’s translation of Beowulf"

My favorite Paolini quote: "I strive for a lyrical beauty somewhere between Tolkien at his best and Seamus Heaney’s translation of Beowulf" My dad became so mad when I told him about that; as a Tolkien fan, he joined the ranks of Paolini haters when he learned of this quote.

he can strive for it but if his writing is anything to judge by i would have to say hes missing it widely.
i mean if thats his accuracy the man wouldnt be able to shoot the broad side of a barn at point blank range....
