I'm curious about how the 3D effects will work, and if it's related to the game coding or if it's from the system/new DS coding. Some of the E4 rooms in HG/SS had a 3D-like effect that I thought was pretty neat, but is that what the Gen 5 3D will be like? Maybe it'll be like how G/S worked -- it appeared in color for the GBC, but could still be played on the older Gameboys too. Also, the new Black/White starters were released. ( link) I kind of like the grass starter, and the water one sorta maybe. I look forward to seeing their evos, though. Oh, also! The in-battle sprites are animated in a more interesting way now. It kind of seems like the various parts of the pokemon sprites are on different layers so they can move like they do, but still, pretty nice. ^^ Sheo, I totally agree on including an EV-gained meter. It would make things so much easier! xD

Aww, the Fire-type starter is a piggy!
And yeah, if you watched the entire Starters and Heroes video, they show a bit of the gameplay, with the character walking down the street in the city, and it's safe to say it's no longer a straight up top-down view, having brought the camera closer to ground level and looking at the character directly, almost.
But yeah, look at them move in battle, huh? That's awesome. If it's not possible to play the newest Pokemon on a regular DS, a DS Lite, or a DSi, then I am definitely getting a 3DS when Generation 5 comes stateside.

Spoink is the only piggy pokemon for me. Plus I seem to be having trouble with that starter at every angle. It's name (Pokabu?) makes me think of Pikablu every single time, and its appearance reminds me of barbecue chips... it really can't win with me. And yeah, I like what the gameplay videos have shown so far. As used to the top-down view as I am, I'm looking forward to the new setup.

There's who knows how many birds, a number of mice, squirrels, cows, cats, dogs, a couple ducks, ghosts, snakes, a whole bunch of things yet there is a stunning lack of pigs and now there's one more, and nothing? I think it's adorable! The only cute one of the three. I'm gonna name him Porkchop! Seriously, what is up with that Water-type starter? Talk about hideous.

=/ I'm sure there's a meaning there, Kaneda, but I'm really not seeing it.. Mankey and Primeape may be the originals, but Spoink is still my favorite. It has the 'pearls before swine' metaphor but actually uses the pearl and wears it as a hat, is a kleptomaniac, has a terrifying heart condition, and is incredibly adorable. Seriously, look at how cute it is! This little guy is forever in my top ten fave list, and I can't even narrow down who the other nine are. Porkchop is a great name for the new piggy though; it actually raised my opinion of it a few points. ^^; Your argument for Porkchop works for the new water starter too, though -- isn't it the only Otter-type pokemon? I want to see its evolutions though; I mean, look at the difference between Piplup and Empoleon. New water starter might take some time to get used to, but I'll bet its evos are something fierce.

I'm not saying Spoink isn't cute. It's adorable. And I guess. I'd have to see the Water-type starter's evos, but I, myself, hold no illusions. I mean, Bibarel isn't exactly the most attractive evolution.

I like to think that the starters are held to a different standard art/evolution-wise than some of the other general filler pokemon, but with the designs of the new box cover legendaries... it's rather hard to say what they'll end up like. ^^;; I'll still hold out some hope, though. Also, new scans of 7 more pokemon have been released, as well as other over-world information ( link). I like some of them, but I think what I'm most excited for is that there's going to be a desert area again. ^^

Well, it looks like we're going to get some never-before-seen type combinations, after all. Already is confirmed a Ground- and Dark-type Pokemon (Which means I can finally have a Adamant-natures Pokemon who knows both Earthquake and Crunch and get STAB. I hope it evolves), a Dragon- and Fire-type Pokemon, and a Dragon- and Electric-type Pokemon. There's also a rumor presented that they might just bring out Light-type Pokemon with this game. And I mean, why wouldn't they? They already have Dark-type Pokemon, and just about every type that currently exists has a polar opposite, Fire for Grass, Ground for Electric, Psychic for Fighting, so why not have a Light-type to oppose the Dark-type?
But it looks like Zorua and Zoroark are going to be another impossible to obtain Pokemon, requiring you to get Celebi from the movie download and transfer it to this game. Why do they do that to us, knowing full well they don't do that kind of thing in America and that American fans can't "just go" to Japan to get it, especially when you consider the event was well over by the time it was released in America? They better change that little factoid about Zorua and Zoroark in time for the American release, that's all I have to say.

Do you honestly believe that Zorua and Zoroark will be completely unavailable to the REST OF THE WORLD just because Japan is the only country that does movie distributions? Wi-Fi/TRU/etc, etc, etc... All I'm saying is I feel they're doing it wrong, making Pokemon only available like that.

So Generation 6 was announced earlier this month, the new games are called Pokemon X & Y, and the region (or at least one of the cities shown) seem to be based on France. It's for the 3DS and the graphics are now in 3D rather than sprites. And here are the starters; Fennekin, Chespin, and Froakie. Also nice, the games are expected to have a worldwide launch this October.

I think all the starters look good for X and Y. I can't wait to see their evolved forms! I feel like Chespin's evolutions are going to look awesome for some reason.

Yeah, I like all of them this time around too. I'm pretty sure I'm going to pick Chespin, but I think it'll be fun to train all of them. There's already some fanart ideas out there for what their evolved forms will look like, they're pretty cool. It'll be interesting to see how the official ones differ, and hopefully it won't be too long before they're released.
There are also rumours that you might be able to customize how your character looks, or at least maybe the clothing, which would be really cool. If it's true, there could be daily motifs or something to download from Spotpass, like the weapons in Kid Icarus: Uprising. It'll be interesting to see what 3DS features the game makes use of.

So I felt like posting this because I saw it recently. If you haven't seen it, there is going to be a new Eevee evolution in X and Y! It's name is Sylveon, it is cute , and it's type has not been announced yet! I think it is probably either a flying-type (it kinda looks like the bows are waving in the wind), a normal-type (It could happen! ), or maybe actually a steel-type ("Sylv" sounds like "silver"). What do you people think it will be?
