I'M SO EXCITED FOR THIS. OMG. I even had to make an icon for it.(If anyone hasn't heard the news; A Major Pokemon Game is to be announced May 10th on the Pokemon Sunday variety show. CoroCoro mag will have the announcement too, but that's on May 15th.)

I so want to agrue against this. The Pokeballs are gold and silver. Big deal. It could mean anything regarding the Johto region Pokemon, but the fact of the matter is, the indicators are too strong. It all points to the official announcement of the GS remake. I am happy about this, yes, but there's still the fact that even if this is true, we still won't see it here in America til next year at the earliest, unless they've been working on it side-by-side with DPP and just keeping it quiet until now.

Well yeah, that has happened for 13 years. Then there's E3 coming up. After Nintendo's Epic Fail last year, Animal Crossing is NOT giving something to the hardcore Nintendo fans, they could make the official announcement on that show on Sunday, and then have some to show off in L.A. And with E3 coming up next month, it'd definitely redeem them some in the eyes of their loyal fans. On the subject of E3, the announcement of a new Mario or Zelda, or a new home console Pokemon, would be nice. I still have yet to get Battle Revolution, but would gladly wait until the new home console Pokemon.

Looks like Yahoo JP couldn't wait a few days; they announced/confirmed the new Pokemon games ARE GOLD AND SILVER, to be renamed as Heart Gold and Soul Silver. Pokemon.co.jp has also followed up on the announcement, and PokeBeach kindly offers up the translation: ---- We learned on the 7th that "Pocket Monsters Gold and Silver," the second entry in the popular RPG series, originally released on the Gameboy system in November of 1999, will be remade for the Nintendo DS this autumn under the titles "HeartGold" and "SoulSilver." New elements will be added in this tenth anniversary return to the Johto Region. A continuation of the original series (Pocket Monsters Red, Green, Blue, and Pikachu), Gold and Silver recorded remarkable sales of 23,000,000 copies worldwide. It introduced monsters that hadn't appeared in the gameboy games, along with various new features. Red and Green, the first games of the Pokemon series, were remade for the Gameboy Advance in 2004 as "Fire Red and Leaf Green," making this the second set of remakes. While Red and Green had fantastic upgrades in their transition from Gameboy to Gameboy Advance, this time the games are skipping the Gameboy Advance and going directly from Gameboy to DS. So they will almost certainly have drastically upgraded graphics and sound. Details will be released on the official site shortly. Currently in development for the Nintendo DS are the newest entries in the Pokemon series: "Pocket Monsters HeartGold and SoulSilver." Taking place in the Johto region, the games will be upgraded with all of the series' current features and will also be paced with brand new features. This year marks the tenth anniversary of "Pocket Monsters Gold and Silver's" release on the original Gameboy, so its revival is only fitting. Since its release in 1999, the game has sold over 23,000,000 copies worldwide. ---- And here are the shiny new logos: Excuse me while I go explode in glee! XD I'm especially super special happy that the games will not only include the series current features, but that they also will have brand new features as well. Can't wait to find what they are~ <3

This is GREAT news, but... Am I the only one having trouble taking the names seriously? roflI first played Gold on a GBA (I never had a GBC or original GameBoy) and always wondered what it would look like with upgraded graphics. I guess I could say I have been waiting almost eight years for this. I like DuskGold and DawnSilver. And my Pokemon life is complete. They could end Pokemon with this and I would not care. They're finally giving GS their due. I wonder if they'll bring back the PokeGear? And if they do, will you still be able to register NPC's numbers? And if you can, will they have more interesting things to talk about?

I suppose the wind could get seriously annoying. Unless they have the wind actually blowing and affecting things, I don't think it'll have to much to do with anything. Just sort of... there, you know? EDIT: I found something cool. This site, you click on the picture of the Pokemon you think would win in a fight. By my estimation, it's something of a Pokemon popularity poll, and being that it applies types and stats and whatnot... www.pokemonfaceoff.com/index.php

HGSS are official the greatest paired pokemon games ever. In addition to pretty much every fantastic feature there is in these games, you can get starters from the first three generations. I mean really. Three sets of starters. I just about peed myself when I heard that.

Any word when they come out? Last I heard, it was April 1 specifically. Every site I visited suggested the same thing. It may have changed since the last I looked over almost a month ago, though.

Wow, so Gen 5 is on the way! ..... I wonder what the new amount is going to be. Dx My guess is that there will be maybe 131 new pokemon, bringing the Pokedex to around 624. (I dunno, I just like that number.) That pokemon has quite a mane. The top part reminds me of Ninetails, but the arm kinda look like Zangoose. I think it's a fire type though. For Gen 5, I hope there's something more, or new, to it. The previous Gens have added more features but it's always been the same kind of plot and gameplay, and I'm kind of getting bored of it. I'll probably keep buying the games anyway so it doesn't really matter, but.. last week's press release said something along the lines of a new RPG being made that (hopes) to be an "inventive rebirth, featuring completely new ways to play." that I'm looking forward to. I don't know if it's Gen 5 or another branch off like Mystery Dungeon, but, I'll be looking out for it. ^^; What I also hope Gen 5 brings is an easier way to transfer pokemon between games that you own. Like a downloadable Wii game or something, because honestly, how are you supposed to trade pokemon between DS games without someone else's help? Especially with the Shiny Pichu and the other event pokemon that unlock features, and transferring hundreds of pokemon to complete a pokedex. There needs to be a better method for it than just tying up someone else's DS for hours.

I IV/EV train my pokes too (actually, I'm kinda lazy on the IV front; I'll accept 17+ stats as long as the nature is good), but I lost my wi-fi a long time ago so the training is mostly only for the Battle Tower/Frontier, which gets kinda boring/frustrating after a while. ^^; I'm looking forward to the little olympic mini-game things in HGSS though, they look kind of fun. But yeah, RSE's secret base was way better than DPP's version. You couldn't even get rid of those big boulders unless you had help from another player which was annoying as well. A new Pokemon Box game would be really great. HGSS has been out for a while though (in Japan anyway) and I haven't heard any news of a game like that though, but hopefully they'll put one out after Gen 5 comes out? Speaking of which, you were right about that new pokemon being werewolf like! It's a dark type and has a little pre-evolution too which looks like an evil Vulpix. xD For the first new pokemon to be dark-types, I wonder if that means anything for Gen 5. I wonder if Game Freak hasn't been making other games because they're so involved with Pokemon? Although they might just have to work on it bits at a time. I heard of Drill Dozer but I never got around to trying it. I don't know why, but I keep thinking its game play is like Pokemon Trozei. ^^;

Generation 5 is going to be in 3-D. I'm not so much sure that the images will seem to come off the screen with special glasses, but from the screenshots I saw on Serebii a while back, it's built in such a way that you're actually turning corners, for example, like you would in real life.
As far as the Pokemon go, I just want to see combinations we've never seen before, particularly in the starter department. Half Dark starters or half Dragon starters, something like that. And even if they go with some combinations we've seen before for everything else, like Dark and Ghost, to give them unexpected move sets.
And in the moves department, a strong and accurate (90 damage rating or better and 100% accuracy or no dice) but not life threatening, such as lowering stats or self-damaging, physical Electric-type move, a strong and accurate special Flying-type move (I'm sorry, but I actually prefer Gust to Air Cutter and Air Slash because Air Cutter and Air Slash aren't the most accurate), and for physical moves, regardless of type, to have incarnations that have a 90 or better in the damage rating and still have 100% accuracy (Earthquake is the only one I can think of right off the top of my head), like so many special moves before.
And to have it be easier to determine what EVs your Pokemon are getting, such as having a spot for that on the Pokedex.
