Are you talking about that thing where people were all debating and then someone fussed and then all non-zutarians felt like they had been told to get out? If you are, I was annoyed because many members of that room had continued the debates by actively replying and replying. If the debates were an issue, no one said anything and then someone did complain, a mod got involved, and no one from the Zutara room took any blame for adding to the problem by encouraging the debates. It was just laid in the laps on non-zutarians. If they hadn't wanted the debates to continue a perfectly polite request to move to another thread or a suggestion to start a new thread would have sufficed. If I am dredging up something, I apologize. No, you aren't. That's exactly what we we're discussing. -_- Still supremely ticked...but what can you do? The Zutarians didn't do anything, and it's too late to do something now. Huhn. Weeeeeeeell..I guess... Nah. I'm stumped. XD So what's new? Ummm...let's see here...I have $8000 worth of water damage to my basement and I'd like July 14th to hurry up so I can get my Avatar fix.

Well, yes. More like millions. Internet fandom always only represents a very small percentage of the actual full fanbase for a property. The full fanbase's preferences and opinions also tend not to be in line with fandom's either. Which is why a constant issue in fandom is the problem with fannish entitlement: the conviction that a lot of people in internet fandom tend to have that the creators of a show are writing for or towards them or in a specific attempt to acknowledge their preferences and the things that they like or that they should do so if they're not. It's generally untrue if for no other reason than that even if the creators are pandering, fandom is such a small fraction of their audience that they're not generally going to be the ones pandered to unless it's a cult property.

@gotterdammerung: I see. O,O....But that is very true: internet fandom is just a small percentage. That's actually really kind of cool. XD
*Anticipates new episodes more* Wheeeeeeeeeee! XD
Edit: Oh! Gotterdammerung, I've been meaning to tell you: I really like you latest work, 12 Ways...Zuko thinking of Toph as a little brother instead was a really nice surprise! :3

Now, my reasons for Maiko. Let's go back to Return to Omashu. Now, you see that the creators are trying to make us hate Mai. We all know that what she did with her little brother was practically inhumane. It's like she's a witch! She's a monster! She has no heart or soul! Lets make a we hate Mai club! But did you know that was the exact same thing that we had with Zuko? Think about it. When we first saw Zuko attempt to attack Aang in the first two eps, we all thought 'I don't like him! He's the bad guy!' Zuko Fangirls can't deny it! Avatar kept the 'Zuko's a badguy' thing until ep 12. Yeah yeah, you say you thought he was cute before eppie twelve but the fangirlism really started after The Storm premiered. After that it was all ZOMFG WE LOVE YOU ZUKO! After that Zutara was born and the REAL shipping war started. Now we are in the second season. Mai has been introduced into the show. And after just one episode, there are many people that hate her. Enought people to make a 'We hate Mai' club. I'm not saying all, but still many. The creators are trying to give us the impression that Mai will always be some gothy, quiet, heartless girl that has nothing better to do than help capture our favorite duo (Zuko and Iroh) and the Avatar and his friends so Azula can turn them in so they can be put in jail for the rest of their lives or even executed. C'mon! That is not like the creators to do that. We know that they have something up their sleeves for her in the future. Just like Zuko, it's very, very possible we could see an episode revealing more about Mai and in general Ozai's Angels that could blow our minds out. Something that reveals why Mai is the was she is, and I'm 95 percent sure that has something to do with Zuko. Something that could hint a past relationship that they had. Something big. Something that could make us start liking her. Just like Zuko. I see a trend. But enough about that. Let's go to my other reasons shall we? So far Mai is the quietest of all the charachters. And I know that she has the patience to deal with Zuko, and calm him in a way no other girl and maybe not even his uncle can. And in a way I can see the symbolism an similarities between them. Take a look at my siggy. I noticed they have the same glare lol. Now take a look at these pictures. It's almost scary. And these now. And now these. And lastly these. Sorry that they're very big. Mai and Zuko both like knives. They both are very calm, no-nonsense people. Their relationship will be unique one. A quiet one but a very sweet one. A calm one with it's own kind of fluff. Not a perfect one. But at least it's almost there. -gigirl942

Bravo Gigirl. I've liked Maiko since "Return to Omashu," but you've brought up some interesting points about how both characters have been percieved.
Actually, I'm the reverse. I liked Zuko more before he became all emo.

But I think Zuko became Emo Zuko for the better, that just adds more Maiko fluff.
Let me explain.
We know Zuko has been having his outbursts. He even cried in the last ep. If Mai and Zuko end up together, there could be scenes where Zuko gets emo, cries and Mai sooths him. Ahhh......
I actually have am planning to write a drabble/oneshot that takes place after Zuko Alone.
Young Zuko is heart broken over the dissapearence of his mother. Mai finds him and consoles him while he cries. Chibi Maiko!
I have to go. Bye!

Well all of the emo stuff is what made everyone like him so much. And I think it was the best direction for his character to go in, otherwise, what would have happened? He'd still be stuck as the annoying, spoiled prince chasing the Avatar. Now we know more about his past and his motives behind going after Aang. We now know that he defended the other nations, against his own. And he wouldn't be after Aang if he wasn't so proud.
Now, after we were given so much information on him, we need to know how he feels about what's happened, and now that his past is coming back to haunt him, we're getting to see more of it and how he feels about it. He's emo because he's had such a tragic life for a 16 year old. I know Aang has too, but he's not what I'm talking about at the moment.
Knowing what we do about his past now, it would be really odd and OOC for him to not act emo. Ah...I don't know, that's my opinion.

once again, I am in the minority. Oh well. I'm old. I think Toph was a jerk, don't care too much for episodes filled with emo Zuko. A little emo is okay. But for goodness sake, Zuko is moodier than a girl on PMS and it's tiring to watch at times.
And it would be one thing if he matured a bit after facing issues. But in many ways he hasn't. He's still stomping away from Uncle when he doesn't get his way (i.e. the lightning issue at the end of "Bitter Work" when iroh wouldn't shoot lighting at him and Zuko got all pissy)
I kind of like being in the minority though.
