I still ike the Obito/Tobi theory better than Yondaime/Akatsuki leader theory.

Well, Orochimaru did bring the first two Hokages back to life, didn't he? He did bring them back to life sort of. He sacrificed two of his ninjas to do the forbidden jutsu though... Summoning: Impure World Resurrection Coffins of the late Hokages: Characters on the coffins: ‰ - Sho 1, “ñ - Ni 2, Žl - Yon 4Name: Kuchiyose: Edo Tensei, ŒûŠñ‚¹Eâq“y“]¶, literally "Summoning: Impure World Resurrection" English "Summoning Jutsu: Reanimation" Type: Kinjutsu, S-rank, Supplementary Users: Orochimaru This forbidden summoning technique allows the user to revive the dead. The user must first sacrifice a living human in order to tie the deceased person's soul to the world (unlike the normal summoning technique, which only requires some of the user's blood). The sacrificed body is then surrounded with dirt and dust that compacts into the shape of the summoned soul's original body. The resurrected person then rises from the ground in a wooden coffin. At first, the person appears pale and dirty, as most undead are portrayed. The user has to restore their appearance through a special seal. When revived, the person remembers everything they once did. Because of this, the revived person is not completely under the user's control. With the same seal that restores the revived person's appearance, their personality can be erased, thus putting them under the user's complete control. The summoned person can't be killed and any damage to them regenerates. The soul must be removed from the body in order to kill the resurrected person. This technique can be used to summon multiple people at once, depending on the amount of sacrifices and the chakra level of the user. Orochimaru uses this technique during his battle with the Third Hokage in the Invasion of Konoha arc to summon the First and Second Hokages. He had also intended to summon someone else, but the Third prevented the final summon. In the anime, the coffin partially rises from the ground, and the symbol on it suggests that the Fourth Hokage was the final summon. In the manga, the Third stops the final summon before it can even be attempted, so the occupant of the coffin is left more ambiguous.

^ I know. That's what I was saying. Someone could have resurrected him with that jutsu or some other variation of it.

Well, the bad guys can sacrifice people. And akatsuki is bad.... So they could, theoratically bring dead people to life.

Yeah, but I wonder if the jutsu could really last that long?
Long enough for them to live as a real person again.....

Well, maybe, but another problem I see with the Tobi = Obito theory is that the use of that particular technique would mean him to be partially under control of the person who preformed it. Now, presuming this would be Orochimaru, seeing as he mastered it, it would make no sense of Tobi to still be in Akatsuki. He would be serving his master Orochimaru.

Unless there was a plot twist. And there are always plot twists.

There was a grave of the first and second, but that didn't stop Orochimaru!

There was a grave of the first and second, but that didn't stop Orochimaru! Thank you! @morashiz: Does Orochimaru necessarily have to be the only one that has mastered that jutsu? He said it himself that Itachi was more powerful than him, so I'd think that the Akatsuki leader is much more powerful. And about the under someone else's control thing. It could be some sort of variation of the jutsu. It doesn't have to be the same one.

Yeah, but Obito was 13 years old when he died and Tobi is too tall and big to be 13 years old.....
Madara Uchiha might be the Akatsuki leader in my opinion. Not much is known about this Uchiha member. He seems to be well known by the demon fox, who said that Madara's chakra was even more sinister than its own at the time and that Sasuke now holds the same chakra.
Wikipedia has no picture of him and only has ? marks on everything about him....

Welcome, Al!
What if they were capable of using the jutsu used on Gaara? Because then the peson would age!
That would be sort of scary if Madara was the Akatsuki leader.

It could be some sort of variation of the jutsu. It doesn't have to be the same one. Well, we know Orochimaru is very skilled in those kind of techniques, so we could presume he did it. One could never know for sure though. And about the justu, you could be right. It could be a completely new jutsu. We'll have to wait and see. If it'd happen ofcourse!
