Not gonna lie, I'm just pleased when other people remember Song, and see her as a badass like we all know she is--but Zuko/Song will forever be my OTP. Hell, I can even take Zuko/Song/Mai because it was written well, and I can see them all being somewhat beneficial to each other. Song balances out the equation pretty well.

Song buffers nicely... *ahem*
Something that crossed my mind (sleep is failing me): Public Displays of Affection. Season 3 seemed to be cool with showing us how quick and comfortable a particular couple was with PDA (which I thought was unexpected from both of them, butthat'snotthepointhere). So, Zuko and Song... PDA all the way? Wait a couple of dates? Slower than that? Only in private? no wait... They're both awkward in my head; Zuko the most (naturally), but they're shy kids to me even if I age 'em up. Even with a bold!Song. Their "courtship" I could see taking forever... those dorks. (Zuko seems to make most of the pairings he's involved in dorky by default... at least to me, idk.) There's likely to be baby booms with soldiers returning home and what not, and these two are putting the royal court in suspense with their "No, you first." "No, you." This isn't my only idea of them; just the dominant one (and not by a lot). I don't like to rush them, but I like everybody else bothering them about it; or being left out of their status all the time because, look, they're so shy they get bashful talking about one another... and Zuko could be in his study in the Fire Nation and Song could be in the clinic in her village :B

^PDA is a reason why S3 sort of failed. For something that represents Asian culture pretty well, having lovers make-out like no tomorrow doesn't make a huge amount of sense, given most Asian cultures are fairly modest in concerns to the (even if new generations are shifting that tide, it still strike me as odd when S1 had one kiss where one half of the couple was ascending to a higher plain, and S2 had 3, one which faded to black and the other which had the camera paneling upwards just as it was happening and the last being a peck) It kind of like saying American people are so stupid that the only way we'll understand that two teens are a couple is if their faces are constantly attached.
Teal Deer: S3 would have been better with less SUCK-FACE. By all parties involved.
As for Zuko and Song... given that it's hard for me to see either of them making the first move; Zuko because I don't think he ever has since the implication is that both Jin and Mai took the first steps in their respective courtships with him (or really in Mai's case, Azula just sets them up all the time...) and Song... while I do think Song is inherently bold, I see her being as clueless as Zuko. I've got this weird thing in my head where no one ever believes that she's never had a boyfriend when really, she just never figured out the reason why the guy from the market keeps offering to help her carry her bags back home (and other similar situations.)
Their coming together in my mind is something a little more mutual where he realizes he likes it better with her around and she doesn't mind being around (which is probably the hardest part- finding a reason for her to be close without letting professionalism/academia get in the way.)
One day, I will write the plot bunnies in my head. Or at least draw them. Maybe.

Zuko never tops: trufax XD
I get the feeling that Song would be the one to initiate discreet pecks along with words of encouragement, considering her playful nature and all.
Also, Aquavi speaks the truth--S3 would have been less awkward if there hadn't been so much face-sucking. =\

Seems we agree that Zuko and Song would be generally clueless and/or hesitant with acting out on romantic affection... initially... maybe. They're old school... old fashioned? : I agree to some level about pda on s3. Only Sokka and Suki's... ehm, actions... didn't really bother me, but only because I found them funny. I don't even ship them, but I always saw them exactly the way the were portrayed, so nothing surprised or disappointed me about them. p.s. check chapters 3, 4, and 7

I think it has more to do with the fact that their initial interaction is as cautious and tentative as it is that they would continue to act as such for the simple fact of not knowing how the other person felt/would react. Once knowing they'd probably relax about it, even if being awkward for entirely different reasons. XD
OT: Sokka and Suki felt... 'natural' which is why I have no gripe with them. Everything else felt like "Hey, let's write romance really stupidly!" because strange things like facial expression and body language have no use in animation when portraying emotion and character relationships.
PS Loved chapter 7. Song hoping to see Zuko again has always been on my mind in concerns to personal canon/fanon and it's nice to see others do that.

omg Inu! I was ready to bring my requets to the courtyard, but you did it first >///< Hey, I was thinking... Song/ Zuko = Orihime/Ulquiorra from Bleach. Can you see the resemblance? The kind and cute healer, and the almost-emo supposed-to-be-bad guy... <3333 Awww, it´s love... At the present, Ulquihime is secomnd OTP after Soko edit: I almost forgot the most important!: There are a CONTEST in The-Soko-Empire! Please check it! the-soko-empire.deviantart.com/

Ulqui is too flat of a character to really be compared to Zuko... Ichigo actually makes for a better comparison (incredibly strong sense of honor/doing what's right, mommy issues... has a dad and sister that beats the crap out of him [when appropriate]... wears a mask...) Uqui worships Aizen and is confused by Orihime. Ulqui = Azula if anything (if you can fathom Ozai being Aizen [and Aizen would kick Ozai's butt lmao] and Orihime being Ursa to Azula.) And I've already fathomed if you blend Song, Ty Lee and Jin together you get Orihime... more or less. Since Song lacks that manic perkiness and cuckoolander tendencies that Jin and Ty Lee have respectively. XD I wish I had some work on my end but I don't... I've come upon a dry spell in creativity and motivation and I need a push. I did however get suzukiblu to do me a drabble based off of one of my fanarts... community.livejournal.com/white_knuckle/39451.html?thread=254747#t254747

Agreed with Aquavi so hard. Ulqui is just...way too flat to be Zuko. Not to mention, I would like to think Zuko and Song have a better relationship than Ulquiorra and Orihime, lol. I do see a better resemblance to Ichigo/Orihime, right down to the fact that the guys feel guilty towards the girls in one way or another. That, and both guys not being aware of the girls' feelings.
Also, I did see the drabble for the art, and foamed at the mouth, it was so awesome!

Bleach... it's a manga about a teenage kid named Ichigo not getting any obtaining supernatural powers (a giant sword) so that he can protect his friends and family. Orihime is his love interest (or large-bosomed unfortunate skunk who needs to mature and grow away from her one-sided love... depending on who you ask) and Ulqui is... the guy who kidnapped her, threatened to force-feed her, rip open her chest and crack open her head. Oh and threaten to kill her too. (But all that was apparently to help Orihime grow as a person, away from her one-sided love, blahblahblah. Yeah. You think Ship Theory in ATLA is crazy...)
And I for the record, more or less give Zuko and Ichigo the same face. Ichigo's chin is longer and Zuko's got his scar, but other then that... I blame Kubo. Mostly.

Ah...Bleach...yeah...watched that for a while...couldn't really get into it...but I remember the chick with the huge...endowments. She seemed to be quite chummy with the guy in the glasses when I got bored with it.

Read the manga. It's a lot better and there's no stupid filler! (of course, currently the manga is a little WTH, but I'm hoping it'll change soon.) BUT BACK ON TOPIC... I got nothin.

Um...yeah...tried the Manga too...STILL couldn't get into it. For me, it suffers from what I call Nurato Syndrome...a complete dislike for the main character, who, as the main character is the focus of the story so appears at least twice as much as anyone else.
It's hard to wade through chapter upon chapter focusing on characters you don't like to get to the characters you do want to know about.
Ichigo (that IS the guy with the orange hair, right?) is no where near as annoying as Naruto, though...
Yeah...back to Zuko and Song...um...I was surprised at just how much art there is in the 'Faves' at The Soko Empire considering these two are really nothing but a couple of lost kids who shared a meal.
