Ugh, Toph has always liked Katara. They just fight from time to time. Tales of Ba Sing Se, I suggest you re-watch it. Every opinion you have of Katara should be invalid because you're obviously bias. And you obviously don't like me so your opinion is biased. Every time I talk about Katara you're right there to say something rude about me. Is it a crime to have an opinion here or is it just wrong to not like Katara? Leave me be. I don't hate you, but your posts are way off-based. I mean you even forgot the fact that Toph has liked Katara from the very beginning just to vilify Katara. Now, go back to Season 2, and re-watch Tales of Ba Sing Se. Only reason you hate Katara is because Toph doesn't get much screen time.

Did anyone see how awesome Sparky Sparky Boom Man is? And I loved the fact that Aang was dead serious when he said, "It's Sparky-Sparky-Boom Man!!"

Only reason you hate Katara is because Toph doesn't get much screen time. That isn't true. Haven't you been listening to any of my rants? I don't like Katara because (mostly) she does get way too much screen time but because she has very violent mood swings which usually involve someone being hurt by her temper or she is a sweet, motherly young girl the next moment; she is never reprimanded for her aggressive behavior but is somehow always shone in a positive light. Look at "The Runaway." While Toph was portrayed as a scamming addicted little physco (not that I agree with that, because I don't) Katara was only portrayed as being too motherly, which we are expected to believe is somewhat of a bad thing. But considering how irresponsible the others are for the majority of the time, of course she has to be motherly- being motherly isn't a bad thing and should not be counted as a flaw nor should be considered the equal to Toph's scamming addiction (or whatever you could call her behavior in that episode). Let's not forget the endless train of fan service. "The Runaway" where Katara was bathing, "The Painted Lady" was entirely glorified fan service (completely unneeded in the long run), and I could go on. But I don't exactly hate Katara. She has her good moments. "The Puppetmaster" though was about Katara- I adore because it is so well written! Katara actually made the episode better- I actually felt really sorry for her at the end. I don't hate Katara- at least not when the animation is good, clear, vibrant, and symmetrical like in "The Headband" but when the animation is dull, floppy, and not symmetrical like in "The Painted Lady" then I do not like Katara because somehow, the quality of animation represents the quality of the episode. I am not biased with Katara, sure I do not like her and tend to point her out in my episode reviews but I don't hate her; "The Puppetmaster" is one of my favorite episodes of the entire show and Katara was actually a likable character. She can be a great character but she has really failed to be enjoyable in the third season (though she isn't the only one: Zuko).

Sounds like you're only complaining because you're not getting your own way. This is "Avatar: The Last Airbender" the main focus would be Aang. Next to Aang would be his love interest, which is Katara. Toph isn't as important to the storyline. This isn't "Non-Avatar: The Blind Earthbender". As for her mood-swings, she's always had mood swings, since season 1. That's her personality, though very caring most of the time can be a monster when ticked off. Each character have their own strengths, weaknesses, and personality flaws. Katara bathing in The Runaway is far from fanservice. The straight male/lesbian demographic didn't even see anything. And I fail to see how The Painted Lady is fan service. As for it being a useless episode, there have been plenty of fillers in the last two season that are just as useless. Also, Toph have always liked Katara, and you saying that this episode is the reason why Toph suddenly likes Katara is way off the mark.

Sounds like you're just talking to me for not liking Katara; well I'm sorry for not liking her but that doesn't mean that I'm being biased nor does it mean that everything I say should be disregarded; I have stated plenty times before that I sometimes like her, but most of the time I don't. How is that being biased? Why do I even bother commenting if someone is just going to bite my head off for having an opinion? Every time I so much as complain about Katara's behavior for one instant, someone pops up to yell at me- usually you. We didn't need to see Katara bathe- she was showing skin (not a lot but it is Nick), that is fan service; you don't need to see anything special for it to fan service. Every time Jack's hair (of Samurai Jack) fell down was a moment of fan service, every panty shot of anime is fan service. It doesn't have to be explicit to be fan service. "The Painted Lady" was just glorifying Katara, it had no other purpose. Toph has never shown that she liked Katara aside from their bonding moment in "Tales of Ba Sing Se"; sure they bonded but it didn't cement a friendship and we never saw them being close together or even be seen together afterwards. In this episode they officially became buddies, Toph openly admits that she likes Katara. Whatever. This conversation is over.

If Samurai Jack's hair falls down, how is that fan service? It makes more realistic if he's getting beat up and his hair gets messed up. Taking a bath, it wasn't graphic. It wasn't fan service. It was just showing something mundane. Something to show that these are people too, and people take baths. As for the Painted Lady, yeah it was a pointless episode, still plenty of pointless episodes in Seasons 1 and 2. You're only singling out Painted Lady because it was Katara-centric. It takes Toph to say it for you to get it. Toph has always liked Katara, that bonding moment in Tales of Ba Sing Se should've been a clue but you hate Katara so much that you ignore it.

but you hate Katara so much that you ignore it. Didn't he state in his last post that he doesnt hate her. That there are episodes where he does like her but mostly he doesn't like (=/=hate) her. Or do you only read what you want to read? I for one don't like the behavioral of katara and zuko this season (mostly cuz of painted laidy and the beach) but im positive that it will change in the second half of the season

Geez, Wyrmking and Firework, you two are still at it? Since neither of you are going to change your opinions, how about either agreeing to disagree, or taking it to email or pm, eh? Just sayin'...
ON topic, something I haven't seen people really mention is how Combustion Man was able to set all this up. That means he's either wealthy enough to bribe the police force, or has some form of authority to commandeer them. So, even though we've not heard him speak, he's obviously more than just the avatarverse's version of the terminator.

Well getting off of the subject of Katara and Toph. Did anyone see how awesome Sparky Sparky Boom Man is. I mean this guy seems surely undefeatable. Has anyone put this man on their top three favorite characters? Maybe it's his lack of a real name, the fact that he never speaks, or the fact that we know nothing about him (i.e. how Zuko found him, how his powers work...), but I just don't think of this guy as a "character." An interesting obstacle for the heroes, definitely, but there's not much else to like or hate or anything. Any mercenaries we've seen before on Avatar (Jun, Xin Fu and Yu) have been much more interesting (now that I think about it, I wish Zuko *had* hired Jun instead). On a related note, I despise the name "Combustion Man." This is Avatar, not the DCAU! I firmly believe they intended to call him something like "The Assassin," but the network censors put an end to that, so they pasted in the first fire-related adjective they could think of and defended themselves by blaming it on Sokka.

I think "Fussybritches" might be one of the cutest insults of all-time. Oh, by the way, 'Coppa? You just earned infinite *karma* from me for that awesome (or should I say pwnsome?) graphic. For sure Sugar Queen has just been knocked off as the ultimate insult to K.
