I was a little sad that this episode was a bit filler-ish. The fact that the eclipse will only be 8 minutes was interesting; and I definitely was really shocked when Katara was revealed as the [fake] Painted Lady and then we saw the real Painted Lady at the end of the episode....but still, yea, it was pretty much a filler episode. D:
On another thought, I'm not sure exactly what her exact quote was, but the thing about when Katara said she would never not help people who needed her help; I found that quote to be very powerful and very much who Katara is. Yes, this episode was filler and a bit annoying as well as the fact that we've already seen a lot of Katara trying to help others, but it was really powerful the way the quote went.
I also think that some part of Katara wanting to help others is because of all the times she's needed help and been lost and without it; and not wanting it to happen to others. It's interesting; but I've never particularly completely thought about this part of Katara (We've all known how she feels she has to help others in need...but it's never been really thought of deeply) and I just found the quote and the idea very powerful, and very close to the core of who Katara is, the kind of person Katara is and what her past has been like.

Yeah I thought about Aang swimming in the polluted water with his open wound. Maybe, like astroanna said it is acutally a scar. Katara did seem to be having regular healing sessions with him so maybe it is healed.

People are noticing a lot of Zuko similarities. The one stands out the most to me was how the villagers shunned Katara, even though she'd saved them, once they found otu she was a Waterbender, just like what happened to Zuko in "Zuko Alone." Which means nothing except that the writers ran out of ideas.

omg Dock and Shou just made me rofl all over and then at the end when he just whips out different hats
"I DON'T JUST CHANGE HATS! (Though my brother Dock does, he's kinda crazy."
not exact quote but close enough
XD I just fell off my couch laughing at that

It wasn't that bad guys. I mean it was still Avatar. But it was disappointing for Avatar I guess but it was still great.

I liked it. Mainly because the FN village isn't outing Katara as a Waterbender (Which all nations/benders who aren't FN are enemies) and Toph having some fun lines and things to do!

I cringed a little bit when Aang pointed out the Doc/Shu thing. He said it like he was the only one who realized it.

Going along with the Zuko similarities and the whole shunning thing; I found it a little bit weird that after Sokka saying a few heart-felt lines they immediately found it okay; I mean, you were all shunning her and mad at her a second ago and a few words changed your mind and now you're oh so grateful to her?
Not that they shouldn't be; but the reaction wasn't characterized completely properly in my opinion. =P

I loved this episode! I can see why people would call it a filler, but I don't think it is. We're already seeing baby steps to a revolution of the Fire Nation by its own people. Both "The Headband", and "The Painted Lady" showed this so I wouldn't really call them 'filler' eps.

How can you guys consider this episode "just a filler?" There is some significant information here:
1.) The eclipse lasts for 8 minutes 2.) Katara "will never, ever turn [her] back on people who need [her]." 3.) More Kataang is seen here. 4.) Katara revealed herself as a Waterbender, and Toph and Aang revealed themselves as Benders as well. 5.) There is "much to do" before the invasion begins, which seems to be only a matter of weeks, maybe even days. 6.) The Fire Nation does not care for others (we already knew that, but it is explained even further in this episode).

I think it means that often times people will shun you even after helping them just because of something trivial such as where your from. The village's rejection of Katara, like someone else said earlier, shows how even low class citizens of the Fire Nation, dislike people from the other nations.

IMHO, maybe these people might help them in the invasion. I wouldn't be suprise if the FN students Aang met helped them in the end.
Maybe the greatest irony of all is that their biggest ally may be the FN citizens themselves! (Sokka said that they were only just going to get their friends and allies from around the EK)
