Aang: I've been breathing for hours! Jeong Jeong : You want to quit breathing? That part was so funny! True! I laughed at that part!

I thought his obssesion over Aang's stance was funny, too "Obssesion"? Obviously, you don't know much about the martial arts. Firebending takes its basis from the Northern style of Shaolin Kung-Fu. Knowing the correct stances by heart and learning proper control of your breathing are ESSENTIAL! The stronger the body and mind, the stronger the spirit. A bender's strength flows from the enrgy of the planet as well as themselves. You must always be mindful of the dark side of your spirit, anger, fear, aggression. Those are the worst emotions to fight with! If you give in to them, your soul will be forever consumed by darkness, just as Fire Lord Sozen's was!

Okay, I must state that Jeong Jeong is my favorite character at the moment. Apparently "Jeong" in korean means a correction of some sort. But I'm sure the name has another meaning I don't know of yet If anyone knows/finds out, please tell me! I'm Korean, and speak it quite fluently (since I spent the first half of my life there), and as far as I know, "Jeong" doesn't mean correction. It means "affection," "feelings of attachment," or even "well" (as in a drinking well). HOWEVER, "Jeong Jeong" does mean correction or fixing something.

I never heard of a phrase jeong jeong in Korean. Perhaps another language? I get what you are asking me in the first sentence, (answer, about ten years), but I have no idea what you are saying in your second sentence. And I personally thought Jeong Jeong meant nothing in Korean, but my mother told me. Must be an older dialect.

Just asked my mom too. She said it does mean correction... It's like Suhrwu (files) ruel (is[-?]) jeong jeong (organize/correct) hada (did). It's like jung-lee(organize), but with two jung's. That explains a lot, since Jeong Jeong's appearence was based on the Korean Anime Studio Director, it's fitting that the character's name would mean something in Korean. Personally, I want some more Korean names on the show. (It would've been cool if they used Korean for written language, but I must agree Classic Chinese fits it more...) And because Jeong Jeong was enlightened, he tried to "correct" the war, which was wrong, so it needed to be corrected... well, yeah.

the word jeong jeong also means youthful and vigorous, and is often applied to older men who are still strong and healthy. and i think this is also a fitting definition, because even though he is old he is stronger than any young firebenders. as for more korean names, i agree. i know it's largely based on chinese mythology, but it would be cool to have more japanese and korean cultures represented. but chey (the unofficial follower of jeong jeong) kinda sounds like a korean name. so doe hahn, that guy who was supposed to marry princess yue. and that guy from the fortuneteller episode who was attacked by a platypus bear (sorta), his attire and hat resembled something korean officials wore back in chosun age.
