Hi everyone (or anyone)! I started on this site when I was in middle school (though i was kind of obnoxious, undiagnosed Autism and being a kid, mostly active on Zutara threada ) and got hit with a burst of nostalgia and figured I'd poke around! I'm glad to see this site/forum is still around, if inactive. It's kind of like a time capsule! I realised the other day Avatarspirit and Dongbufeng are both completely gone, as is the big Les Miserables forum I used to frequent. I remember airbender.net but that's been gone for like a decade too, as are some of the other big fandom sites of the day (ie some livejournal and deviantart). Sad about the loss of archiving for some of those spaces but it's cool to poke around here and that at least one place preserved fandom history!! Are individual forums generally not a thing anymore or just not on my radar? I love the avatar reddit but tbh i kind of miss forums sometimes? Anyone still around? Hope you're all well if anyone reads this, can't believe its been like, going on 18 years since I first found this site, and fandom/anime in general thanks for the memories, to everyone who made this site what it was, and to everyone maintaining it!

There are still active message boards in existence. Just harder to find since everyone relocated to ShitBook and Twatter.
I'm sure Distant Horizon will remain for as long as ProBoards remains a company and as long as the administrator doesn't delete it entirely.
My only hope is that once it's time to say good-bye, there will always be the Internet Archive to preserve a majority of this website.

Yeah, I'm really thankful that the Internet Archive preserves so much! It's great to see at least one actual site still up though! Also, happy 18 years of Avatar: The Last Airbender! Can't believe it's been so long!
