Definitely gave The Legend of Korra it's own identity in this lore with the introduction of the Red Lotus and business is about to pick up with the Earth Queen and Zaheer.
The Misty Palms Oasis has definitely came a long way since it's days during the time of Aang.

Nice seeing the Misty Palm Oasis again, but the ice there surprised me. Wasn't it almost gone when Aang visited? So how is it larger now? Do they have waterbenders come by and fill it up, or is it because of the spirits/Harmonic Convergence? Anyway, loved the battle between Mako, Bolin, Ming Hua, and Ghazan. They really should have switched in the fighting pairs, so I suppose that's what they'll do next time if/when they have a rematch. I wonder what they'll end up doing with the boys, though. Also, poor Bolin with his sudden black eye. Also loved the chat between Zaheer and Korra. It's so nice and refreshing for them to have an actual Q&A session instead of the typical ranty monologues and quips. I was extremely happy when Zaheer just sat down and was like, "What would you like to know?" with his eyebrows all downward slanted, aww~. Even though it was a trap, which, honestly, just gives him more bonus points in my eyes. I don't agree with his final chaos theory though, because I think eventually people would again try to create order because that is what people do. Everything's circular. You have corruption, you clean it up, and eventually there's new corruption. But I like how it kind of ties back to Book 1 with the anti-bending revolution, or at least the inequity of the power structure. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out. Also, wow, Earth Queen stepping back in, I was not expecting her so soon. Korra's straight-jacket/Hannibal Lector restraint thing is so ultra creepy, I hope she breaks out soon. Will it be Lin, the Prisoners, or maybe Tenzin? Or maybe Asami and Korra will break themselves out? I'm kind of placing my bets on Lin, although the Prisoners doing it in a quasi-call back to the Blue Spirit is interesting too. I'll probably have to wait before I can see it because of the hurricane, but oh well. As long as there's good character interactions, I will be happy.
