I HAVE SO MANY FEELINGS RIGHT NOW. This is a discussion thread for Iroh, the character connected to Zuko via interviews from Dante Basco. I was wondering when Dante would make his vocal debut, but when I saw the ships in the episode and heard "General Iroh" I knew it would be in this moment. Very excited to see his introduction, and I'm hoping he becomes a permanent member of the cast based on the events of the season finale and the next season. Not a whole lot to say about this guy yet but I definitely have plenty of feels from him right now

I have a feeling I'm going to like Iroh 2.0. I can't wait to learn more about his backstory. I also hope that he gains a permanent role in the sereis. I look forward to seeing what interactions he has with new team Avatar.

Looks like it's been confirmed that this is Zuko's grandson.

Since the current Fire Lord is a lady (Zuko's daughter), that would mean Zuko had no sons.
That means Iroh 2.0 (if he is related to Zuko) would be the Fire Lady(?)'s son.
Shouldn't he then be called Prince Iroh. not General? Of course I'm not sure about the hierarchy of honorifics... :/

It seems like in the Fire Nation, it's a lot more equal than we would assume. Ozai was clearly 100% okay with handing Azula the throne and was clearly quite alright with Zuko being out of the picture. Especially because she took an active part in the military as a leader. I find it hard to believe a male dominated society would let a princess just stampede them unless they respected her equally. Might have just been his daughter was his eldest child and by right of passage, she was the one to ascend to the throne after Zuko abdicated the throne. Iroh 1.0 was called General Iroh even when he was the Crown Prince, so his title as General doesn't necessarily mean much.

He looks super fine but his voice is laughably unsuitable for his character design.

Im glad to see Zuko Reincarnated sailing in to save the day. A wise Avatar once said that some friendships are so strong, they can even transcend lifetimes.

So yeah he's my favorite character and depending on age I either ship Korra/Iroh or Lin/Iroh. :3 What if the father Byrke wouldn't mention turns out to be Zuko? I'll laugh my arse off at the reaction that would cause

Ehh.... I'm not a fan of this development, but I knew it was going to come, some I'll deal till we get a glimpse of what he is really like. I would have thought that they would have alluded to him earlier.... and I realize that downplaying the fire nation in the show is important... but one thing that has bugged me is that you would think that with Amon and the Equalists, using a hundred year war as a reason for getting rid of bending would be a good idea.... ah well.

I think the United Forces has more than Fire Nation people, hence the name. We may just see water tribe or earth kingdom soldiers too.

What Horyo said. I would probably attribute Iroh 2.0's place as General due to his connections to Zuko/the throne of the Fire Nation, but I would never presume it to be a "United Forces" made of only one nation. Most likely it's something closer to NATO or the UN in our world.

I didn't mean that they where from one nation.... just that I thought that it made sense that Amon would justify his war by using what firebenders did during the war (Ozai burning the earth kingdom down seems like benders using their power to intimidate and hurt people)
The URON is separate from the other nations, so its not that I thought that the fire nation should be leading an assault. I meant that I thought that we would have gotten a more rich background about what happened to the colonies, if there had been rocky points... etc leading up to the present. Having Iroh Jr. be in the story earlier would have given that some airtime to do just that.

He looks super fine but his voice is laughably unsuitable for his character design. SOOO THIS. Iroh2 looks like he's in his mid 30's but sounds 15... probably got in a LOT of agni kais when he was growing up cause of people making fun of his voice.
