^ Ahahaha, that gif is mint. The wonders of the internet....
And speaking of the internet, tumblr, at least, seems to be pretty set on 'Makorra' as a name. What do you all think? I like that it manages to include the names of both characters.
So now we've got Asami throwing a metaphorical and perhaps literal wrench into things. I guess that's the catch I was looking for earlier. I like what Bryke's done with her character - despite the fact that she's messing things up for poor Korra, I can't find it in myself to dislike her. She's cool.
I'm a little wary of this weekend. From what's been leaked so far, it looks like this Saturday's episode is going to be a shipping doozy.

Yeah, I'm surprised no one has edited the title yet to add Makorra... Although I will admit to being partial to Koko as well.

Why does this relationship feel so odd to me?
Mako and Korra seem like they'd be brother and sister.

I think the issue lies in that the relationship seemed to be very shallow. I like the idea of Makorra but Mako could have used a lot more development.

I think my main problem is that you never really see Mako and Korra become real friends. Like one minute Mako is fairly antagonistic towards her and the next he decides he's in love with her and is basically right there every time she turns around. Creepy. Throw in all the Asami nonsense and it creates a very... frustrating thing to watch. And it's sad because I had such high hopes for Makorra.

Kind of agree. I don't think it would be unrealistic to think Korra and Mako have shallow feels towards each other; Mako's a good looking guy and Korra's a pretty girl (in a different sense from 1920's glam Asami), but their relationship kind of has gaps in development idk. I always result to fanfiction in these cases.

Honestly, their whole setup is more office co working finally hooking up for a one night stand after all the pressure of having to try to keep their passions out of their work rather than any sort of meaningful build up.

If Korra is to Republic City what Batman is to Gotham... Will Mako be to Korra what Alfred is to Batman?

Yah, just seems like they like each other for looks. If only they started off as friends than slowly realized they loved each other, than I could see it. Look at Kataang, you may have been able to tell Aang loved her from the begining but they were friends and than became a couple at the end of the series. I'd like some thing done like that for season 2.

I think Mako and Korra make a cute couple, but so did Asaumi and Mako. They were so cute together, but you could tell that Korra was really jealous of them two.

Mako got into a serious relationship with a girl he barely knew because she was beautiful and sweet. And I would argue they did evolve to love just the way you said, it was just very subtle/not glaringly obvious.
