Hello to everyone here on DH! I've just discovered this forum today and I'm quite pleased that I did. I'm only a member on one other forum located at setokaiba.com where I am an administrator. I'm actually looking forward to posting somewhere with intelligent users whom I don't have to babysit. As for my interests in Avatar, I believe Zuko is the perfect antihero, hehe. I'm a big fan of fire bending, however I study Tai Chi so I also enjoy watching the water benders and picking out all of the 'real' Tai Chi movements. Obviously there are plenty of other reasons, but I won't waste your time with a humongous essay. I'm hoping this is an adequate introduction! I'm looking forward to getting to know all of the wondrous users here. If anyone has other questions for me, just let me know. I'm quite social.

Welcome to DH Goddess (I'm feeling lazy >>) ^^ The intro is more than adequate for sure. How many of the waterbending moves are 'real' Tai chi movements do you think? I was under the impression it was almost entirely based on the martial art >>
Anyway, hope you enjoy your stay *nodnod* and if you have any questions feel free to PM me or any of the other staffers

Thanks very much for the welcome. It goes appreciated. Trust me, I have no issue with being called "Goddess" As for the Tai Chi bit, a good amount of it comes directly from Tai Chi. Basic stances, hand and arm movements, etc... I think they did a pretty good job with it. Do you remember the episode that revolves around Katara stealing the water bending scroll and learning the "single water whip" move? Single Whip is a move that happens in all forms of Tai Chi, typically multiple times. xP That's just one pretty obvious example! Personally I'd love to learn more about Northern Xiaolin so that I could speak about fire bending. xP But that's just me...

I figured you'd be fine with that btw, you can just call me GH ^^ Thats a cool little tidbit about Tai Chi. I've never been much of a martial artist unfortunately, I'm more of a mainstream sports person (volleyball, basketball, soccer, baseball, ping-pong, juggling....wait) so its kind of cool to hear that the water whip, a basic waterbending move, is actually a basic movement of Tai Chi. It makes sense since many of the waterbending moves revolve around forms of the water whip, albeit more complex ones. *nodnod* I'm sure you can find someone in the forums who knows about Northern Xiaolin whom you could talk to about it. I'd try either of the general boards. Or do a little scavenging, I'm sure there's bound to be a martial arts thread somewhere...*ponders likely places for that to be*....

It needs more smiley faces, unnecessary punctuation, and "OMGZ" to be a DH newbie. Welcome, love. I'm your official tour guide, any questions? Just ask yourself what Jesus would do and if you PM me about it I swear to god you'll wake up without fingers. I ttly can't get in trouble for that...

Thank you for the responses and welcomes, all of you. Shaykiez - your icon pleases me. xD My next project is to make myself a signature and to start posting around other threads so that I can actually make a civil contribution to this forum. Feel free to PM me and/or punch me in the face if I do something incorrect. The forum I help run has a very similar structure of warnings etc. As someone who is usually drowning in people who simply refuse to read or follow directions, I'm more than happy to correct any FAILs I happen to make while I'm around. Also feel free to PM just to say hi. Thanks again for the greetings. I'm looking forward to getting to know the people who make up this community.

Haha my icon is an inside joke making fun of a certain someone here who thinks I have issues and does too many "andakz."
And I was on a Sailor Moon kick. >_> omgfoamMamoru<3
And thank you. =) My signature, however, is a true work of art.
Anyhoo, I was born in Portland. Pretty sexy. After high school I'm going to college in Oregon. =) Go Ducks!

I can certainly appreciate a Sailor Moon kick, believe me. I'm doing the college thing in Portland as we speak. I'm not with the Ducks though, I go to Reed College. ^^;; But, since we don't have a football team, lots of us will root for the Ducks on most days. If you finish high school soon, perhaps we'll run into each other sometime.
