I have looked at many peoples profiles. Most have not posted more than twice in a months period. So I am curious, do you actually care about the forum staying alive? Just signing on wont keep it kicking. surely! i do looove coming to DH...it takes me away from normal everyday life and gives me a chance to talk to others online and explore my creativity with the Icontests it offers. but i know many of the 6,328 members on here..if not 1/4 of them have busy lives and can't come on here but once and awhile.. and probably 2/4 of them totally forgot about the forum entirely...but for the 25% of us that normally comes on here it's always a pleasure. But you also cannot deny that since the show is over that the fandom response on forums would decline because it has. We just have to try to get on here as much as possible and interact with the other members and reply to topics to keep the forum from becoming stale.

i think we should have a DH activity day where everyone goes on the same day and just posts, like the good old days. Post on the main page that everyone is going on a certan day.; i guess you can almost say it's like a party/ reunion. make up fourm games like find the christmas trees or something like that. you can make these thinks happen as frequent as you want too. i think that would get DH more alive and looking like it useto be. but it's just a suggestion.

I still check in, but as with everyone else..... Avatar is over, and we just aren't the superhighway of Avatar fandom that we where before. I'm sure that once the movies start up, we might see some renewed vigor, but until Nick decides (if ever) to give us anything at all Avatar related, we are going to be in the dulldrums. Heck, if we could have one book that continues the canon, we would have decent membership. Look at Star Wars-- They have a massive extended universe, with hundreds of books published, video games, and more. Same with Star Trek and other such long standing franchises. The fandom remains because there is still stories to be told and read. Avatar needs some of that, wither it be in the form of MASSIVE fan based projects (a la Star Trek in the 70's) or some canon content thrown our way via a book series and such. (Zuko's search for his mother FTW)
Not saying that we are going to have the 150+ people online like we had in the last days of the series, but we would have a strong base, that is for sure.

I cares! I cares! There just isn't anything I can do about it. Its a bittersweet nostalgic feeling. I find it odd that Jade (Musogato) hasn't commented in this thread. Im sure all this really affects her as the creator of this place. I was here years ago at the beginning. Coming back now, its a bit sad. when I took off it was a busy community. I could say I should have never left, but one person couldn't have kept this from slowing down. I can't even remember why I left to be honest....maybe it was some change in the rules I didn't like back then....or did we have trolls for a while? Hmmm...Ok getting off topic...done now.

I CARE! I will admit though, that when the last episode aired I did kind of slack and disappeared for far to long. I am not going anywhere though, I try and come online at least once a day just to check up on things. I might not be the best because of school and homework and the sort but I try. It's just kinda of hard to post every day because it kind of makes me feel like I am just talking to myself. I remember when this place was absolutely kicking and sometimes the servers would get bogged down because too many people were online at once. I miss those days, but let's be honest there isn't much that any of us can do about it. Just makes me wish harder that some kind of Avatar related show starts and that will probably draw a lot of them back.
Holy ramble Batman, sorry if I repeated or made no sense haha

Well, most of the previous Staff posts covered it incredibly well, but sure, I'll throw in my two cents. When Avatar was still on and this forum was really active, yeah, it was amazing and I'm glad I was a part of it even if I was only here 1/5th of the time. We had/still have an excellent staff and through good times and bad, they and our members were amazing. But times change and people move on. If DH's greatest moments are now in the past, I'm okay with that. DH played its part -- people found their niches, made new friends, and enjoyed talking/debating/getting absolutely frustrated about things that happened on shows or otherwise. Good or bad, it was a lot of fun (although I would prefer not to relive those bad moments ). Whether DH still has more life in it that will be revived after the movie is released or something else, or if not and DH remains a ghost town, I'll still be lurking here. I don't post much, I'm not really a forum person, but I'll keep checking in until the day Proboards ends. But getting DH back to its former speed will take something very big, that we as individuals or even a small group can't artificially create. If people have run out of things to talk about, or are too busy with other things, that's just the way it goes. People will still come around and post, it's just at a much slower pace now. It's just the new reality, until something comes along to revitalize the fandom.

Pretty much agreed, DH may come back to life when the movie comes out, but until then, I'm going to check in occasionally. There's not much life in the threads anymore, and I'm normally the last one to post, or I have nothing new to contribute.

I care I just don't have much to say about AVATAR anymore. I wish I did . I miss just talking about the show. Some good memories. That and the people most important to me are either inactive, have left the board, or fell off the forum for a very long time.

I joined DH in December 2007 so I missed all the original bonding and good times that most people had and still feel like a n00b But I like coming here and posting. I'm not usually in the mood to put in all the effort to log in, but when I do I get really into it. I wish more people were talking about Avatar because I still want to. DX
And I want 5000 posts. :-P

Six days shy of a year after I first posted in this thread, I'M BACK! and let me just say, I do care. I care care very much that DH isn't active as much as it used to be.
However... I never really felt that I fit in. I held conversations and posted stories and took part in challenges and contests and whatall, but all the same, online, just as offline, or real life as I sometimes say, it takes me a while to actually make friends with people and that's exactly what happened. Yes, I have made new friends since joining DH, but how long has it been since I heard from them? And since Avatar ended (and on a lesser note, since Sokka and Suki got back together even if the show were still continuing today, thereby pretty much nullifying my OTP of Azuki - OR DOES IT?) there's not been much talk about the show, so not much I can do to contribute with nothing new to posture about.
I mean, it's like the last day of school. You have all summer or the rest of your life, depending on the school year that just ended, and you'll see your friends from school sometimes, but not as much as you did during the year and there's no saying you'll see them again next year. Or ever again in the case of high school graduation. That's what it's like. The time between seasons and waiting for new posts was like summer vacation and the end of Avatar was like high school graduation, making the movie like college. Everybody kind of went their own way when it ended, some eagerly awaiting the next phase, others moving on with their lives. Of course, I'll be waiting til the movie comes on the movie channels or is out on DVD and/or bluray.

It seems like every year everyone says "we'll keep in touch" just like everyone said they were going to keep posting here like they used to, but people change and times change. I think that a lot of the people on here have had some major life changes since they joined, college, high school, etc., and their free time for posting was cut down. Personally, I always made the effort when the show was on, but after the show ended, DH ended up lower on my growing list of priorities. I think the movie will bring some people back, and bring in some new people as well, but Distant Horizon will never be as active as it was when the show was on.

I miss this board, but there's nothing I can do. Unless, of course, we hardcore advertise the hell out of this site around the time of Korra.

Yeah, there will definitely be some advertising to get people back to DH. Although I'm sure some amount of old members will return as well as the Korra/comics hype builds, but every shout out will help.
