Do You Care?

I have looked at many peoples profiles. Most have not posted more than twice in a months period. So I am curious, do you actually care about the forum staying alive? Just signing on wont keep it kicking.

I certainly care, but it's not like I could force people on. It seems the age-group in our boards ranged around 13 to 16, when it first opened up. Those people are probably more busy with school and life events that a luxury like the online life is expendable fun and not as pressing.

The staff has brainstormed ways in drawing members, but the main reason is that Avatar has mostly ended and there isn't much left to discuss because it was a rather short story, at least if you compare it to some of the stuff out there.

^Gonna have to agree with Horyo. I won't lie - there's just not much to talk about anymore. Just about everyone is repeating themselves over and over in the Avatar boreds. I'll lurk around the General Boards from time to time, and post sometimes, but overall, the site has lost a lot of activity. I can't stop it. None of us can, really.

Still, there are regulars here that do still keep it moving (if not at a slower pace), and in the end, I imagine those who want to stay, will stay and continue to enjoy their time here.

I try to care that DH is dying, but when you consider that my SN was once The Grim Reaper, how could I not embrace the fact that I am frequently the last person to post in a thread I care about for a long period of time between mine and the next person's? If anyone else posts at all.

I've been posting, a lot more now that I have internet at my house instead of having to go to the library and only getting 2 hours a day.

Of course, you'll probably notice that I only have about 360 posts.

Not a lot, but it's better than not posting anything.

I usually stick to the General Board, giving notice of the latest dreams/visions that keep occurring. (Cornelius Vanderbilt is IN MY DREAMSSSSSSSS!!!!! And so is King Leonidas of Sparta!!!!!)

Sometimes I'll take trips to the Kataang Sky Castle for the purpose of celebrating Kataang, but now that the Avatar Series is over there's not a lot to mention, because it's already been mentioned.

But yeah, I have noticed the slowdown around here.

I am making a resolution kind of thing to try and make at least one post everyday. Whether it just be in Staff Board or somewhere else in the forum, I will try really hard. But just because people can't post everyday, doesn't mean they don't care or forgot about DH.

I'm hoping that since the summer is coming up and people are ending school soon, the forum's activity may increase a bit. Personally, I'm swamped with finals (still bawwww), as are others I'm sure. Maybe in a month we'll have more than 30 people come on in 24 hours. =/

I wanted to start another huge forum activity which could liven things up, but I stopped putting effort into the idea because the dedness around here kinda proved to me that there isn't enough interest to waste my time on it. =/ I really wish things would pick back up, the forum would be so much more fun. xD

People started annoying me a bit and then I had a birthday party for my cat and I thought to myself, "Dude. I'm making a cake for a cat and actually hosting a virtual game for virtual strangers who are yelling at me over a virtual community."

Just joking, school started up and volleyball was kicking my arse.

DH is dedish. Let's just like get this out. Avatar is over and everyone's like spazzing about the movie.

We're like a terminal cancer patient. Alright- that was mean. We're like hanging my threads is what I meant.

I went on hiatus from like March until like the beginning of this year because of annoying people, but I'm back now and I hardly ever post just because I've got a life. I've got school, band, marching band, my job, etc etc. Oh and sleeping takes up some time too.

I care, kinda. I care enough to come down and see if the threads I post in are active.

Lol seriously, Abbzy. Us developing lives has a lot to do with this forum inactivity. People were so depressed about the lack of Shayiforous andikz around here that everyone died of heartbreak.

I love DH, and just because I don't post a lot doesn't mean I don't care what happens to it. But, like other people have mentioned, Real Life happens. This whole school year was crazy, as I was working full-time, taking a couple of night classes, and attempting to have a social life. Now things have slowed down a bit, but there's still always something going on. I'll disappear for a month or more sometimes, but I always come back.

The other thing, which everyone's already mentioned, is the fact that we just don't have as much to talk about these days. I think the biggest thing keeping DH alive right now is the fact that we have so many other categories and sub-boards, so even if there's nothing Avatar-related to discuss, there's always something to talk about. There really does seem to be something for everyone on these forums, and I've always appreciated that. So even though it's really slow right now, I don't see it dying completely anytime soon.

I woud love to see another activity! Forum-wide games and activities are my favorite part of DH. I've really been missing those kind of things, and I hope to see something like that again.
