The Hunger Games thread! All about THE HUNGER GAMES! Written by Suzanne O' Something....ANYWAYS it's about a poor North America who was divided into 13 large districts. When District 13 tried to overthrow the government, it was defeated. As a reminder to all the other Districts that the government has power over them, they created the Hunger Games. The Hunger Games is a fight between 24 teenagers, one boy and one girl from each district. This Game forces the contestants to fight each other to brutal, bloody deaths. The winner gets food for their district and retains his life. Who will win?
IT WAS AN AWESOME BOOOOK~! I got so mad/sad in the middle! I'm anticipating the second boooook~!

I made you that angry? Well, you have to hand it to her, she is good at stirring those emotions. Ok, I'll be on the lookout for it.

I really really loved and enjoyed reading The Hunger Games, and Catching Fire. I can't wait for August to come and the third book in the series to be released =) The world is just amazing, and the characters have such depth that you really begin to love them and just want to save them...or give them a hug. hahaha either or

I'm almost finished with the last book, Mockingjay, and the entire series itself has blown my mind. And yes, while reading most of the books I wanted to punch things too.
Like Gale for instance. I've always wanted to punch Gale.

I read the series the other day and loved it for the most part. The first and seconds ones were great, but I just didn't like Mockingjay. Katniss bothered me, what they did with Peeta bothered me, and the ending was just really bad in my opinion. Spoiler for very ending of Mockingjay: I was a huge Peeta/Katniss fan from the beginning and was so worried that it would be Gale. Then when it was Peeta - and done so poorly - I was wicked unhappy. I've never been so upset that my ship happened. And I hated that Gale was just out of the picture. The killing of basically everyone was probably a more realistic showing of war than I'm used to, but it's a young adult book. I thought it was unnecessary. I'd say that there were parts in Catching Fire that were my favorite in the series, but I liked The Hunger Games the most overall. Some of the tributes in the second book were really great characters - Finnick, the morphlings, Nuts and Volts.... I'm excited, but wary of the movie. I've always had this irrational dislike for Josh Hutcherson.

I've been meaning to read this book, as the movie is/was being filmed in my hometown and the surrounding areas. I've heard excellent things about it!

As with most books, the first is the best book. I found teh second one a little lackluster, and the final one? Well, I haven't gotten around to reading it...But I hear good things about it.
I hate it when the books I've read become popular. I read Twilight before it got popular. Of course, it was awesome until everyone else liked it, then it was lame. LOL

I'm around Chapter 7 of Catching Fire, but I really adored Hunger Games. The intensity was fantastic.

I've just finished the first book the Hunger Games after seeing the movie. I thought it was very well done in both mediums, and I look forward to seeing and reading Catching Fire.
I do hope that Mockingjay doesn't disappoint me like it seems to have done to most people.

I do wish the significance of the pin had come though in the movie but it was good. I think the main action takes progressively longer to get to with each book. There are things about Mockingjay that I just dont get. Like why Katniss and haymitch voted FOR the Hunger Games that President Coin proposed. It just seems completely out of character. Even Prim's death doesnt excuse it.

I loved the books. My favorite was the second, although the first one is close behind. The third book was also good but it could have been better if it was a bit longer. After the second book, the series started getting real big, so I think that Collins was pressured to finish the third book in a shorter timespan.
That being said, the first movie was amazing. It was true to the book and was also entertaining.
