Hey, I planned on not making this thread since I had no idea where it belonged but I decided the mods could move/delete it. Plus I just mentioned it in the rants/pet peeves thread so if I don't make the topic here the pet peeves thread might get de-railed.
I have type two lymphoma (so just the lymph nodes above my chest and it's treatable) that was crushing my neck a few weeks ago. It was a lump on my neck that went 2 or 3 inches out. I had a biopsy before they found out, but it turns out they couldn't put me to sleep because they couldn't fit the breathing tube down my throat with the lump in the way so they had to just numb me while they were cutting into my neck and my back was killing me (I was in a bad position). I got admitted to the hospital because they were worried about my breathing. They're feeding me IV fluids and I have to pee in a freaking bottle every time I have to go. Luckily my room has a bathroom. But they moved me to the intensive care unit so they could monitor my breathing more closely 6 hours later where they had no bathroom just curtains, and my mom was staying with me so I had to ask her to leave the room every 2 hours. Oh, did I mention I didn't eat anything all day till 7pm (they might've had to do something after the biopsy) and when I did I had hospital food. Everything they say about it is true.
They had a catscan the next day and I for some reason couldn't have breakfest. I wanted to go to a computer but apparantly they were too worried about my breathing. The day after that I get the worst catscan I ever had (I had to drink the dye since they were checking my stomach and chest just to be safe) The next day, they found out it was probably cancer and had my parents sign chemo waivers. I get the chemo for 4 days. My neck lump goes down until I can't even tell it's there. They put a second round in for another 5 days and I have to be awake for a bone marrow biopsy and a spinal tap, not very fun. So, I just wait to get emmitted out, hopefully by christmas.
The day before christmas eve a doctor sticks a camera down my nose into my throat and says he's keeping me because my throat still is a little froggy and I die a little inside because he sounded like the only way I was getting out is if the lump magically dissapeared over night. Christmas eve he did it again and let me out. Apparently he meant that he just wanted to see if it got smaller.
When I got home it was 6 and I went on computer for an hour. Then I feel asleep and woke up at 11 because my dad just got a puppy (yay). Christmas I got a ps3, a headset, and other awesome things.
This is all worth it now because I get to miss school for a year
ps. sorry my tab key sucks so much
