last year I bought an all-in-one lexmark printer. I needed a scanner, not really a printer, but just scanner was a no go for some odd reason.
Sooo, after the old computer crashed and what not I got a new computer last year. I did install the printer, but somehow it got messed up, so I removed the drivers/program.
So, since not having a printer kinda defeats the purpose of the computer (in parts) I tried to re-install it yesterday.
it says the drivers are installed, it finds the computer, but the 'printer can't communicate with the computer'
I plugged and unplugged, front back, sideways and stuff
the printer only pulls the paper through, does not even offer to scan... sigh, not Vista compatible?
frustrating. if you have any idae (besides getting an Apple..)

It could be a compatability issue or your cable might be messed up. I've had a lot of problems installing my mothers printer on her laptop. For some reason it would seize all communications between the printer and computer during setup but still recognize the printer when i connected the cable. Really strange. I spended hours on installing a single printer :S Even in 2008, it's still plug and pray

If you do get a new printer, you should get an HP. I hated my old printer, it always failed on me last minute when I was procrastinating on a project or hw assignment late at night. x___x

They used it for an award for an effect peddle. I don't know who made it but i love the picture of Totoro with a bloody chainsaw^^

It's on that compat list I provided Gran LINKThere is a link there to goto Lexmark's site and get the Vista driver. Try reinstalling it? If that fails get back with me on manually yanking the driver out of vista and reinstalling after that.
