Me: Hey there
Me: Hey, what's up?
Me: Wanna talk about the ethics and morality of pornography and its social aspect?
Me: Sure.
Me: I'll start, we obviously know that pornography is viewed by many, but looked down upon by most, right?
Me: Sure.
Me: Now, am I wrong to understand this tendency for humans to be more modest, rather than appreciating the human body and the art of sex, has developed over time? The Greeks had no problem accepting the sexual side of humans, and it's perfectly natural, as well as healthy when it stiumlates the person.
Me: The problem is, sometimes pornography leads to the compulsion to follow through with certain sexual acts that are deemed reproachable in society, like, orgy or emphasis on Bondage/Sadism/Masochism. While most pornographic material is fake (other than the sex), the illusion is strong enough to see what they fantasize. And soem people are crazy enough to follow trough.
Me: But how often do people follow through? Pornography helps people become stimulated and see their fantasies unfold without having to perform them.
Me: True..., but people believe that pornography is encouraging these types of sexual behaviors, and the strongest argument is that it corrupts children. Since children develop and grow through certain mental stages, they absorb and conform to different ideas. A heavily sexualized society would mean Children being exposed to that stuff early on, which may possibly harm them, psychologically and psycho-sexually (if you're thinking Freud).
Me: The thing is though, children are exposed to it. Everywhere, they really are. For the most part though, they aren't receptive. Even though it encourages behavior, I doubt 90% of people go out to repeat the sexual act they saw, especially if it's more graphically gruesome. As for Childrena and society, there could be limits on what they could see or they could have explanations to them on what is wrong and what is right.
Me: That takes time and/or money, something Americans are rather stingy about. Besides, if the encouragement of pornography persists, we could have many more variations of "2 Girls 1 cup" out there.
Me: Dude, I'm eating! Omg that's sick. That's it, discussion over.
He hasn't spoken to me since..
