Tera, no one said you have to write an essay when explaining your rating in those threads or have to praise the avatar/sig. But all we ask is that the rules Psera set up are followed. The rules aren't there for decoration in the games board, they do have a purpose. The first rule goes like this: Offer at least SOME sort of explanation as to why you gave the sig/av the rating you did. No, I don't mean write a paragraph, I mean like "10/10 because I like the text" is fine. But just typing "10/10" and then finishing you post there is selfish and stupid. See. It doesn't have to be a whole rant/essay/paragraph. Just a simple line behind your rating will suffice. But you just have to make sure that one sentence is a good reason why you gave that certain rating. Like Grandi said, most posters make their icons themselves in the thread and they post to see what someone else's opinion about it is. That way they can see what parts they got covered and what still needs some work, like colouring, textures, brushes, lighting, etc. Because like it says in Psera's rules, it's not about the context. An icon isn't bad because it's "two girls hugging each other" or because it's "Ship A and not ship B which I like". That's just being small-minded, imo. If you want to post in a thread like that, you have to be able to look past your disagreement with the subject of the icon and actually rate the icon for its look.

Thank you Grandi and Kohana. <3
It is simple enough. If there are guidelines relating to certain threads, you follow them. Just because the thread happens to be in Forum Games, does not mean that it is exempt from any rules. Whilst the thread does not have post count, that does not mean that the posts should not be worth anything. A simple post such as "7/10, decent text, though the coloring isn't that great" will be suffice, but a post like "1/10 I don't like Zutara" is not acceptable.
I really don't see why that is hard to comprehend at all.

yeah... problem is, usually when people don't like the theme, they usually don't care about the art or the jazzy shizzle or what-not.
I'm not pointing fingers, but there is such thing as a well-made piece of art that sucks. ~Azula~

Does that mean that because I'm a Zutarian, I can't like something Maiko-themed? I've seen some really good graphics of "themes i didn't like" but that doesn't make it worse then a graphic of a "theme i did like" made in a similar style. Anyway, if you didn't notice that two of your ratings was used as an example as bad rating by night were bad. "Funny zuzu? [rating]?" that doesn't say anything.

I don't like it because I don't like it.

I'm gonna move this thread to questions unless someone suggests a way to solve this. It really doesn't belong in suggestions if its a complaint.

It is a suggestion due to the fact that I am suggesting that the rules should be enforced more, even in "game" threads such as the Rating ones.
Also, this thread would not even belong in Questions, seeing as that board is specifically meant for technical issues. This is nowhere near being technical.

K, my suggestion: If you come across one of those 'just because' ratings, why not respectfully and polite ask the poster to add something to the rating, either way?!

I have, multiple times. The suggestion is usually ignored, which is why I brought it up here.

Already done. Kohana tried to help with the situation also, but the problem still continued.

Yes, I get that, but the problem is that people aren't listening to anyone. One mere staff member won't get people to change, therefore I brought it to the attention of the forum. What is so wrong with that?

If they aren't listening to anyone I'm not sure what you're expecting to be done. Do you have any ideas to remedy the situation?
